Underwrites proficiently Medium to Large French commercial and industrial corporates with or without an international exposure. Builds up and maintains connections with relevant brokers and clients, generates a flow of relevant submissions and promotes cross-selling opportunities.


About the role

  • Entertain contacts with relevant brokers and clients, sourcing of suitable business mainly on the primary Middle Market segment.
  • Identify opportunities to position Corporate Solutions on primary placements (with or without international exposure) at the earliest possible stage.
  • Underwrite the business: assessing the risk, coverage, terms and conditions, rating the business within the available rating tool landscape.
  • Negotiate with clients and brokers in cooperation with the branch manager or the client manager where applicable


About the team

  • You will support the French Casualty & Finpro team to further develop primary international business.


About you

  • 7 to 10  years experience in the French direct Casualty market mainly in the underwriting of primaries for Middle Market business with or without international programs.
  • Broad network of brokers and clients especially on the Middle Market segment.
  • Ability to assess risks, coverages, terms and conditions of insurance placements in respect of internal guidelines.
  • Ability to deal with complexity, to handle multiple deals in parallel and to perform under time pressure.
  • Ability and willingness to take initiatives in a team oriented environment, to delegate tasks and to integrate other functions in the underwriting process.
  • Curious, result oriented and with solid negotiating skills.
  • French mother tongue. Proficient English language skills.
  • Knowledge of Professional indemnity and / or Directors' and Officers' basis would be optimal.
