About the Role

  • Prioritize incoming claims correspondence and discuss complex losses with the Manager and claims committees, receives instructions and establish communication with the clients.
  • Establish and approve claims reserves in to the systems and processes payments within own and personal limits of authority.
  • Analyze claims information, reviews and assess the applicability of the reinsurance treaty / policy terms as well as the reinsurance contract with the Claims Manager.
  • Build claims files for all reported losses according to local regulations and CL LA Guidelines, including establishing appropriate reserves.
  • Communicate with clients and brokers on specific claim situations involving payments, reserves, and index calculations. Deliver prompt service to our clients by approving and processing payments on the basis of technical file reviews, and within settlement authority. Provide claims services and technical support for assigned Line of Business and the systems managements.
  • Conduct regional claims QA in the Local Claims Units and prepare comprehensive reports documenting the strengths and weaknesses of their respective operations. Share daily information with Underwriters and Client Markets Teams.
  • Coordinate the corresponding activities and responsibilities on loss payments with the finance team and the Claims Manager.
  • Updating of the claims procedures manual to make certain that all processing functions are in line with existing practices and workflow procedures – best practices, take notes and underwriting alerts about lessons learnt.

 

About You

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent, preferably in either Engineering, lawyer, Actuarial, Marketing, etc.
  • Experience in the Brazilian market claims environment.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Consistent track record of relationship building, including ability to influence in a complex, cross-functional, cross-cultural business environment
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills (ie. Lotus Notes/Word/Excel/Power Point).
  • Ability to handle own workload effectively.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to acknowledge, implement and inspire change.
  • Fluent Portuguese; Intermediate/Advanced English skills.
