About the role and main tasks:

  • The Credit Analyst is responsible to protect Corporate Solutions from credit default losses arising from its Credit & Surety (C&S) underwriting activities thru the analysis of the financial statements, transactions and overall market conditions. This position has to ensure that credit obligors are assessed, rated and appropriate credit risk tolerance levels are determined and respected. They also provide analytical services on credit-risk-related topics and serves as main point of contact for certain Swiss Re Group Risk, Business Services, Sales, Claims and Legal teams and Clients;
  • Leads the obligor/transactional credit analysis & rating process for Surety in Brazil (C&S), including organization and governance, assigns credit limits within assigned authorities and supports the obligor credit limit approval process. Systematically, reviews strategic credit positions on key clients and other obligors to assure balanced credit risk taking activity. Monitors, identifies and reports with the team any material changes in the risk profile of the credit portfolio and any excesses against authorized risk limits;
  • Define and execute the Swiss market strategy, aiming at positioning Swiss Re Corporate Solutions as a top-tier Commercial Insurer in the country. Strategy will include a.o organic growth strategies as well pursuit of inorganic growth options, partnerships and definition and implementation of alternative, ground-breaking business models.
  • Join road shows and meetings with Clients, Sales and Underwriting teams;
  • Makes presentations, run credit reports, supports and help to develop the other credit analysts in the team;
  • Compliance and Controlling Activities: Ensures compliance in own area of responsibility; withinC&S unit;
  • Contributes to rating/limits methodology and tools by closely interacting with other internal teams;
  • Supports annual credit limit & capacity planning activities, also Special Limits process in coordination with the Credit Manager and the local team, C&S Underwriting teams and Risk Management functions at single obligor risk level and ensures that capacity requests are completed on time;

About the team:

The Credit Product Centre is a global team with presence in Sao Paulo, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Bangalore and Singapore. The Credit Product Centre also maintains direct contact to diverse senior management throughout Swiss Re by acting as the key Credit & Surety link with Swiss Re Group Risk Management and Group Underwriting, Legal, Operations, Finance, Claims and Actuarial (pricing and reserving).

Minimum requirements

Educational & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Economics or Accounting;
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years' experience as a Credit Analyst or Surety Underwriter with credit analysis experience in the Insurance or Banking industries;
  • Working experience in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment with global teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen with capital/financial/credit markets proficiency;

  • Excel and Power Point, Power BI advanced knowledge (filters, graphs, macros, formulas).

Language Skills:

  • Fluent English skills is a must;
  • Other languages like Spanish or German would be a plus.
