About the role

In this role you will report directly to the Corporate Solution Claims Head of Governance and Analytics and be part of the Corporate Solutions Claims Latin America Leadership Team with a matrix report to the Head of Latin American Claims. You will be responsible for leading all claims related governance activities in Latin America as well as developing and analyzing KPI and productivity reports. The role requires significant independence and the ability to work with a broad range of people.

Governance

  • In collaboration with the Regional Claims Heads & the Regional Governance & Analytics Leaders, review, define, develop & maintain key controls designed to minimize operational risks across Corporate Solutions Claims
  • Collaborate with Claims Operations to ensure end-to-end controls are maintained
  • Lead and manage the global large loss process for Corporate Solution Claims and identify and follow up on control failure root causes
  • Act as liaison between Claims and Operational Risk Management and Group Internal Audit, including tracking of issues to ensure resolution and sharing best practice across Claims to avoid repeat findings
  • Design, own and approve ITC and BFR controls
  • Maintain SRAD authority limits
  • Act as trusted expert and advisor to the Corporate Solution Claims Department on risks and controls
  • Support acquisition integration and ensure governance requirements

Reporting/Analytics

  • Collaborate with Claims Operations and Regional Claims Heads to support Claims related reporting as technical expert, ensuring claims data and reporting capabilities are established and maintained for staff and line managers to effectively carry out their day-to-day responsibilities
  • Define and implement a robust and functional data analytics strategy in order to meet Corporate Solution Claims' information needs and assist in supporting and servicing internal partners, clients and brokers
  • Identify and deliver continued improvements in Claims reporting and analytics capabilities particularly as the business continues to grow into new markets and products
  • Ensure timely delivery of ongoing reporting packages to fulfil senior management's reporting obligations, key controls and strategic meetings with brokers and clients
  • As required, support the integration of acquisitions to ensure full analytics capabilities are in place to Claims Central Office & Claims Community
  • Support the Claims Leadership team in maintaining key operational control tasks such as large loss review process and quarterly operational reporting
  • Support Claims Leadership team in handling claims scorecard reporting (and Claims Commitment metrics) for strategic broker relationships

About the Team:

  • The role is an individual contributor role in a global team and is positioned within Corporate Solution Claims' Governance and Analytics team. You will also be on the Latin American Claims Leadership team and will work with various leaders across Corporate Solution Claims Latin America.

About you:

  • Minimum 5 years of claims or insurance experience
  • Very strong Excel skills and comfort with claims systems, internal reporting tools and data analysis
  • Strong writing skills
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leadership
  • Be able to thrive working in matrix environment and partnering across the business to achieve departmental goals
  • The ability to collaborate and build positive relationships across countries; flexible hours will be required to work across time zones.
  • Regulatory or reporting experience
  • Law degree or MBA preferred.
  • Data analytics qualification would be desirable
  • Excellent command of English.  Spanish mandatory.
