About the Team

The Finance Reinsurance Americas team is responsible for supporting the Latin American entities and branches of Reinsurance in accounting, planning, controlling, financial analysis and reporting according to local statutory and tax requirements as well as US GAAP accounting policies. As a member of the RI Brazil & Rep Offices team you are responsible to coordinate day to day accounting activities, result analysis, account reconciliation, production of required reports for various stakeholders, performance of required controls, adequate documentation for internal and external regulatory bodies, project work in collaboration with IT, and the general coordination with Finance colleagues outside of Brazil.

 

About the Role

  • Coordinate the registration & documentation of accounting facts, perform posting analysis as well as reconciliation of accounts and balances, prepare and check mapping

  • Ensure that we are fully compliant with company policies and current legislation

  • Produce reports for internal and external costumers

  • Be the main point of contact for IT

  • Produce the Capital Planning based on the balance sheet and income statement projections

  • Contribute to the elaboration of financial statements

  • Permanently monitor the changes in accounting regulations and standards from SUSEP and specialized journals, in order to ensure compliance with all legal norms (mainly for FIP and Quarterly questionnaire )

  • Produce the reconciliation for local and USGAAP balance sheets and income statements

  • Participates and coordinate Finance related projects including M&A and perform ad hoc tasks as required

  • Evaluate identified process improvement possibilities and plan their execution

 

About You

  • At least 5 years of experience in a financial function; preferably in insurance or other financial services sector

  • University degree in the area of finance, accounting, economics or similar. Project Management experience considered a plus

  • Team player with very good communication skills

  • Engaged and motivated

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, VBA, PPT, PowerBi)

  • Experience in USGAAP and IFRS

  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
