About the Team

Reporting to the Head Tax Latin America, and working as an integral part of a genuine global tax team, this position: supports the tax reporting and compliance activities, discusses and analyses tax consulting ideas, develops tax calculations and suggests tax planning ideas, supports relationships with internal (e.g., Finance, HR) and external stakeholders, (eg. tax authorities, external auditors and tax consulting firms); supports the preparation of responses and queries to tax authorities.

About the Role

  • Assist Group Tax, Finance, Finance IT, Operations, HR, Legal and Business teams in relation to tax matters and tax solutions;
  • Discussions and support with internal and external stakeholders, like tax authorities, regulators, external auditors. tax consultants and external legal counsels;
  • Tax IT: support, develop and implement new automation solutions and tools, and finding new ideas for "working smarter" with the team and wider Finance population;
  • Tax accounting: monthly preparation of tax-related accounting reconciliation schedules and tax booking vouchers;
  • Tax compliance: support in the 'business as usual' activities – preparation of tax calculations, tax payments, tax returns, registrations of withholding tax rules for beneficiaries, vendors and clients;
  • Maintenance of good track record of tax documents and repositories
  • Tax consulting for new products, contracts and act as an ad-hoc trusted tax advisor and business partner
  • Supporting in the preparation of documents, litigation and responses to tax enquiries
  • Work with the business on tax planning initiatives
  • Contribute to Swiss Re Group Tax or Business projects, where needed


About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Engineering, Data or Computation Science, or any other IT-related course
  • Advanced English proficiency required;
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools used in Finance (eg. MS Power BI, Alteryx, Excel macros and basic VBA; preparation of direct mailing, etc); knowledge of data programming language is a plus;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in tax accounting or Tax IT, either in Big4 accounting firms or in-house; experience within re/insurance sector is a plus;
  • Experience with Brazilian Tax returns desirable, but not mandatory;
  • Experience with (Re)insurance tax matters desirable, but not mandatory
