​About the role 

An Agency Management Specialist focusing on Life and Health agent appointment processing. Supporting the sales function by ensuring our appointments and agencies can successfully sell our products as quickly as possible. This includes processing appointment requests, state additions, agent record maintenance, hierarchy changes, sponsor changes, renewals, terminations, reporting, and other ancillary requests. 


The Agent Management Specialist is required to: 

  • Process new appointment requests, state additions, agent record maintenance, hierarchy changes, sponsor changes within the service standards. 

  • Maintain open inventory as assigned daily to ensure the full journey is completed. 

  • Assess whether appointment renewals should be performed prior to the cut-off date which varies by state. 

  • Execute appointment terminations prior to the cut-off date, conforming to the defined process and procedures. 

  • Provide appointment status report to respective distribution partners in coordination to the agreed-on schedule and frequency. 

  • Review and reply to assigned emails directed to the team mailbox, and personal emails within service standards. 

  • Delighting our customers by effectively and professionally participating in external and internal meetings providing details and answers. 

  • Support projects and deliver on time fulfillment of tasks and deliverables. 

  • Maintain agency appointment data base to ensure integrity and compliance with all regulatory requirements. 

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for agent appointments, terminations, and renewals. 

  • Follow standard operating procedures for all internal and external Team activities. 

  • Escalate failed background checks to senior representative to ensure we say within the risk tolerance. 

  • Manage a variety of onboarding models and analyze complex data flows to ensure all onboarding is occurring accurately and timely. 

  • Report production issues, and partner with IT colleagues to resolve, test if necessary, and remediate.About the team

About You 

Must Have

  • A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent. 

  • You must have comparable experience in a work or education environment. 

  • A desire to work in the insurance industry (Individual Life, Health or P&C), while appreciating the value served to the US middle market. 

  • You have an interest in working in a highly regulated environment around agent appointments, renewals and terminations and commissions. 

  • You are resourceful in overcoming barriers to achieve objectives. 

  • Naturally curious and eager to learn. 

  • Can easily pivot and is fine with ambiguity.

  • You have the ability to manage multiple things at one time.

  • You understand commission processing and are familiar with commission resolution processes.
