About the Role

 

As Asia Region Principal Senior Auditor, you will work within an agile framework in which you will self-organize with your peers to deliver on GIA related activities, principally the delivery of audits, but also initiatives, projects, and committee and regulatory reporting as appropriate. You have the joint responsibility to deliver independent assurance over the related Risk and Control Framework in Asia Region.

 

For you, this role is a unique opportunity to deal with themes that have organizational impact at the most senior level of the organization driving the risk culture of Swiss Re. You will be constantly challenged to learn new areas of Swiss Re, to assess the effectiveness of the relevant processes, and to come up with workable solutions to any problems you may identify.

 

Relevant work experience together with the ability to analyze, structure and assess difficult circumstances, to work collaboratively as well as speaking and writing in a concise manner, are key success capabilities required for this position. About the Team

 

Group Internal Audit provide independent and objective assurance that assists the Board of Directors and Group Executive Committee to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organization. We perform audit activities designed to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the Group's internal control systems, and to add value through improving the Group's operations.

About You

 

Education and experience:
•    Strong knowledge of personal lines direct insurance business and its governance, risks and controls
•    Good understanding of regulatory requirements in Asia, particularly China  
•    Strong risk assessment and audit skills
•    Strong awareness of internal audit standard methodologies and current and emerging assurance issues for this industry
•    4+ years of work experience in internal audit or other assurance functions in (re)insurance industry or in a professional capacity related to insurance (re)industry
•    Data analytics experience a plus
•    CPA, CA, CIA or professional certification (preferred)
•    University degree (preferred)

•    Critical thinker that sees the "big picture" (e.g. overall themes, trends, goals), generates innovative ideas and solutions to problems and makes recommendations in the face of complexity, conflicting pressures and ambiguous circumstances.
•    Result oriented, able to plan well, willing to coach and work in the field and able to deliver results in time
•    Professional communicator (in both English and Mandarin), able to gain and maintain a trusted relationship while delivering difficult messages
•    Structured analyst, capable to adopt and use data-driven auditing including data analytics to assess risks, scope audits and test controls
•    Team player, able to listen to others but also influence in order to see the wider picture and achieve a vision
