About the Team

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions China is now looking to build business with personal insurance products sold under the brands of existing and new distribution partners. Execution of this strategy is via a B2B2C model across a variety of primary platforms.

In this role, you will work with other colleagues in product team, following the product strategy of IptiQ China, based on dynamics of the health insurance industry, coming up with differentiating product innovation ideas. You will also need to implement a portfolio of products that meet customer needs and well received by the market, and thus drive significant revenue generation and profitability.  

You are an active thinking person that curious about emerging things and have strong ability to develop innovative business. You will go to the field with partnership managers to interview industry experts, peers, and more importantly our potential partners to help them analyse their customers, business processes and insurance solutions that can be embedded into partners' business transactions in an easy and seamless way.  Your initial focus will be on Health products, but will gradually expand to other P&C lines such as A&H, liability, homeowners, and e-commerce related products etc.

About the Role

•    Go to the field with partnership managers to identify partners' needs, design and/or package product offerings and help to negotiate agreements in terms of product pricing and fees etc.
•    Independently sign off the quotation within authority, review the contract, make the product specimen, track the performance of the business etc.
•    Research on market dynamics of health insurance industry, health insurance products and competing products
•    Design and package health insurance products for partners according to the differentiated characteristics of the scene and the crowd research, build internal and external data source that can support product development and analysis
•    Build relationship with reinsurers and drive the process of product design, pricing and reinsurance arrangement with internal functions
•    Risk management in the product sales process and formulate corresponding measures
•    Statistical analysis of product sales data and business structure
•    Other tasks that line manager assign

About You

•    You should very familiar with regulatory rules especially related to P&C products
•    You possess good logical thinking and analytical skills, self-driven, able to withstand certain work pressures
•    You are very analytical and a strategic thinker with a vision to innovate
•    You have curiosity, intellectual capabilities and perseverance to continuously improvement your products and aim to building a market leading position in product innovation areas
•    You dare to break the limit and perform trial and error iteratively to drive innovation.
•    You love to identify product solutions together with partnership managers and other cross functional teams
•    You are influencing and can communicate your ideas to all key stakeholders clearly

•    College degree or higher in medical, insurance, actuary, finance or economics etc.
•    Medical background is a plus

•    Excellent written and oral communication skills in Chinese Mandarin is a prerequisite, and
•    Fluency in English is a plus

Professional experience
•    5 years of relevant experience in P&C and/or Life/Health insurance product design, underwriting, pricing or actuarial, experience with health background will be highly evaluated
•    Excel at health insurance, experience in one or more product lines, such as Health, A&H, Travel, Liability, Online Property and others will be highly evaluated
•    Experiences in start-ups, digital platforms, third party distributors will be highly evaluated
•    In-depth understanding of local P&C market, insurance innovation trends and directions, and competitive landscape especially in health insurance product
•    Demonstrated innovative experience and successful cases in significant revenue generation through digital product innovation and digital marketing
•    Hands on experience in product life cycle management in digital P&C product insights collection, conceptualization, prototyping, pilot testing and implementation
•    Solid knowledge in product filing process and familiarity with local regulatory environment and appetite in digital product innovation and regulation
•    Solid understanding of digital marketing, mobile technologies, big data and artificial intelligence, and its application in insurance value chain
•    Strong established network with peers, online/offline partners, third party vendors etc.
