About Team

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions China is now looking to build business with personal insurance products sold under the brands of existing and new distribution partners. Execution of this strategy is via a B2B2C model across a variety of primary platforms.

In this role, you will be mainly responsible for assisting Head Products in leading and managing products pricing, systems configuration and profitability analysis and management. You will also need to monitor competitive pricing, collaborate with distribution partners in setting prices for existing and new products, and thus drive significant revenue generation and profitability. You will also have a great opportunity to work in a startup environment in an established global institute to set up pricing procedures, tools and processes across various functional areas.

You will work with product managers, underwriters, partnership managers and others throughout the whole product design processes and thus enjoy a high visibility.  Your initial focus will be on A&H products, but will gradually expand to other P&C lines such as  homeowners and e-commerce related products etc.


About Role

  • Work with Regional and China Product & Pricing Teams and responsible for product pricing
  • Lead and manage the pricing process for personal lines P&C China
  • Support on product development, filing and risk management from actuarial perspective
  • Conduct regular post-launch pricing review and portfolio analysis
  • Develop, maintain and improve key pricing decision making processes and tools
  • Keep abreast of competitor product launch information, conduct product comparison in terms of pricing and positioning etc.
  • Support system development and perform UAT on pricing related areas
  • Assist other goals including new business initiatives, reserving, reporting, profitability reviews, planning, and business monitoring by delivering actuarial suggestions
  • Work with corporate Actuarial / Finance and other teams as needed

  • College degree or higher in actuary, math, statistics or engineering etc.
  • FSA, FCAS or equivalent is preferred
  • Languages
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Chinese Mandarin is a prerequisite, and
  • Fluency in English is preferred

Professional experience

  • Strong technical and modelling skills is a pre-condition for this role
  • With at least 5 years actuarial experience and good command on local actuarial regulation
  • Excel at one or more product lines, such as Accident, Travel, Health, Online Property and others
  • Practical experiences in innovating and pricing products for start-ups, digital platforms, third party distributors will be highly valuated
  • Solid knowledge in product filing process and familiarity with local regulatory environment and appetite in digital product innovation and regulation
  • Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of property & casualty actuarial techniques, standards, and assumptions
  • Strong knowledge of insurance operations, procedures and P&C insurance business
  • Experienced and knowledgeable actuarial viewpoint in a wide variety of actuarial subjects, and in company, industry, and regulatory practices

Other skills required

  • Expert at in-house pricing tools and / or data analytics software e.g. SAS, R, Python
  • MS Office Suite: MS Word, PPT, EXCEL
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
