About the Role

As Release Manager, you will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the entity for multiple applications. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programs. Where necessary you will provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production.

You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments. The Release Manager works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own the pipeline & release management process coordinating and communicating status of deployments, (future) release windows & support lifecycle across tech teams, business teams / clients and vendors

  • Improve release quality and CI/CD operations, own acceptance criteria for Production Go-Live and continuously monitor those criteria and other release critical metrics

  • Handle risks and resolve issues affecting release scope, schedule, and quality

  • Maintain a release repository and key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the requirement backlog, pending requirements, third party applications, or operating system updates

  • Communicate key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes

  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations

  • Continually improve the release deployment technology & process with DevOps and QA colleagues


About You


You Have:

  • 3+ years of release management experience in an agile environment

  • Sophisticated knowledge of software development lifecycle

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins and AWS/EKS

  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, skills in situational awareness, conflict resolution and focus on increasing transparency

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and maintain relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders and partners

  • Proficient English skills both spoken and written

  • Insurance industry experience a must
