About the Role

 

Role description:

 

You will be working as part of Standard Underwriting China team in preparation and execution of our digitisation strategy and business priorities, with focus on product solution development, digital system development, process improvement and client engagement (service offering and market event).

 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support Head Standard Underwriting and team to prepare the yearly action plan, with clear priority and focus for execution.
  • Support innovative product development through customer requirements' investigation and competitors' product analysis.
  • Coordinate with local client cross-functional teams, to ensure our action plan in line with Swiss Re CorSo China business plan and priorities.
  • Support client engagement execution according to the action plan, including client visits, client service offering (workshop, training, seminar) market event, and support client cross-functional teams' business origination.
  • Act as focal point in Standard Underwriting China for InsurTech and other relevant technology development, and keep track of such development in local market and Swiss Re.
  • Identify opportunities for Standard product solution development. Support the team's participation and contribution to solutions offered to local clients, by channelling team's know-how and expertise to the solution development.
  • Join or take lead in projects/initiatives as required to deliver Standard product's core value and operational excellence, such as transformation, digitisation and automation, and to fulfil operations / compliance requirement for SR operation in China.

 

About the Team

 

We are the Standard Underwriting team which is focusing on digital solutions for commercial insurance products in SR Corporate Solutions China. Our aspiration is to establish a leading position amongst foreign insurers in the Standard B2B2B market in China, having strong capability for innovative online and offline solutions in targeted industries, and is supported by the capacity to interface to partner's e-comm system to achieve robust operation efficiency.

 

The team is  responsible for developing and implementing the local underwriting strategies and design of the adequate product strategy, as well as optimizing the local operating model in order to guarantee sustainable and profitable growth, penetration in selected markets and definition of the appropriate channels. We work closely with IT, Ops, Claims team in CorSo China, and perform as an integrated cross-functional team for business origination and client value creation.

 

About You

 

  • Successfully completed university degree, preferably in Engineering, EconomicsFinance or IT
  • Strong interest to learn insurance business
  • Creative, critical thinking as well as open-minded
  • Take self-initiative and fast in learning
  • Team-player, willingness to contribute proactively
  • Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment, and to be mobile in terms of workplace or location if required
  • Agile and adaptive to a changing and dynamic environment
  • Proven capability to work independently and proactively
  • Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture
  • Excellent oral and written Chinese and English skills; additional language skills advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Effective communication in 1-1 conversation and small group engagement, and good interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal as well as external customers
