Senior General Liability Underwriter
About the Role
• Originate and underwrite profitable Bespoke General Liability and Crisis Management business as per Business plan targets.
• Accountable for robust pipeline management including the development of solid business pipelines
• Consistently demonstrates good level of risk assessment and underwrite business in accordance with GC Casualty profitability targets, underwriting guidelines and processes and within stated authorities.
• Ensure the integrity of information on the relevant underwriting systems and guidelines by delivering sound and reasonable underwriting judgments within agreed processes at the designated authority level to secure profitable business within the agreed risk appetite
• Good level of proficiently use insurance related systems (Manhattan, UW Cockpit and CorFlow, UWB, ….etc);
• Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with any relevant functional groups/committee as assigned across our business in Shanghai, Beijing, Jiangsu and wider China to ensure any business initiatives and related business matters are in accordance to underwriting and regulatory regime
• Ensuring the sustainable and profitable growth of Bespoke Liability portfolio through business development based on portfolio performance, market intelligence, R&D insight, legal development and emerging risks. Accountable the performance of the portfolio through robust underwriting, performance monitoring, pipeline management and portfolio forecasting to ensure agreed targets and standards are met.
• Delivering solid and constructive underwriting decisions within agreed processes at the designated authority level to secure profitable business within the agreed risk appetite.
• Accountable to implement the GC Casualty strategies and support the Bespoke Liability Team by sharing ideas, beliefs information and technical knowledge promote understanding and genuinely listens to other team member's perspective.
About the Team
This position report to Head Casualty FinPro Greater China, responsible for managing a P&L including originating a flow of new business and driving revenue growth in line with agreed business strategy and performance targets .
• Works collaboratively and cross-functionally to provide specialist risk, industry and customer insights to develop product and solutions that are meet customer needs
• Underwriters risk in accordance with CorSo's process, procedures, risk appetite and underwriting authority
• Focus on market facing relationships and sales
• Portfolio management mindset
• Agility and able to embrace new ways of workings
• Analytical skills including data science and actuarial skillsets to assess complex risks
About You
Educational Background
• Relevant degree level qualifications or higher will be well considered
Professional Experience
• Extensive experience in underwriting General Liability risks, in particular in relation to export product liability, international programs and recall;
• Knowledge of global General Liability and broker markets and their trends;
• Ability to develop and maintain profitable client relationships;
• Client focused with strong marketing skills including but not limited to sales orientation and negotiation skills;
• Strong orientation to driving business growth
• Consistently demonstrates effective communicate and professionally interact with people from different levels/locations of the organization;
• Well organized/strong time management skills

• English and Chinese language mandatory
