About the Role 

We are looking for a forward-thinking individual with a passion for data, analytics and technology to join our Property & Casualty (P&C) Analytics team in APAC. 

Swiss Re's data and analytics assets support our clients' P&C portfolios along the insurance value chain, from risk assessment to pricing to portfolio steering and accumulation control. As we continue to grow, we seek to extend our coverage to other geographies in Asia Pacific and lead the industry practice in how we apply statistical and ML methods to insurance problems.  

For this unique position, we are after a candidate with not only a background in data and analytics, but also demonstrated experience with DevOps. We are after a strong stakeholder manager who is also comfortable with hands-on technical tasks.   

 

Your main responsibilities will include, however, are not limited to: 

  • Support the planning and development of risk assets and data models for P&C Analytics; 
  • Co-develop new solutions to bridge the gaps in our offering today, taking an end-to-end ownership from understanding the business need, acquiring data, modelling and communication of analysis; 
  • Identify, evaluate and ingest data sources to enrich risk assessment and pricing for insurance; 
  • Work closely with IT, in collaboration with the business, and take the lead from design to prototype, to productive implementation of the solution 
  • Develop/expand your knowledge on P&C Insurance solutions; 

 

You will report into the P&C Analytics team but be an important part of a wider Solutions community within APAC, EMEA and globally. 

 

 

About the Team 

P&C Solutions is one of the three pillars within the Swiss Re Reinsurance Business Unit. The pillar aims to contribute to clients’ business by providing solutions and services across the value chain. Our clients' needs are at the heart of what we do, as we make sure that our solutions and services help our clients grow and make commercial sense. It is within the directive of the team to be at the forefront of analytics understanding by driving the development of novel solutions through the combination of risk knowledge and data science capabilities. 

About You 

  • 3+ years' experience in executing projects with technical background & analytical components, preferably within the re/insurance or finance industries 
  • Advanced degree and education with qualifications is Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar 
  • Data science and architecture modelling skills and experience with tools such as R, Python, RDBMS, Elasticsearch and MongoDb is an advantage   
  • Experience with DevOps and Build tools such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, GIT 
  • Experience with Software modelling and tools (e.g. UML, SysML, DoDAF, ToGAF) would be highly valued 
  • Ability to develop strong working relations with colleagues, in particular IT  
  • Open and curious, quick-minded, fast-learner, creative.
