About the Role

In your role you will:

  • Provide legal advice and support in relation to enabling and maintaining Swiss Re's internal asset management platform throughout Asia (with a focus on Singapore, China, Japan and India), through which investments on the balance sheets of Swiss Re's Asian subsidiaries are managed, executed and traded.
  • Analyze legal risks and financial and re/insurance regulations in Asian jurisdictions as they apply to Swiss Re's investment practices and global asset management framework and drive legal issues towards practical resolution.
  • Facilitate coordination of legal/regulatory issues within asset management, and among legal and compliance colleagues across Asian, European and North American Swiss Re hubs.
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues and outside law firms.
  • Provide legal support for new product development and capital markets transactions (e.g., insurance-linked securities, derivatives), as needed.
  • Support internal group projects and strategic initiatives, as needed.
  • Conduct and/or arrange internal presentations and trainings on legal topics.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory trends affecting relevant business areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global team that provides legal support to Swiss Re's Asset Management division, as well as to capital markets transactions such as insurance-linked securities and derivatives. Our internal client is a global business team, committed to delivering investment results for the Swiss Re Group.


About You


Qualification and Experience:


  • Display a "can do" mindset and drive matters towards resolution.
  • Have law degree and qualified preferably in Singapore or Hong Kong with a minimum of seven years' experience, preferably in financial regulation, asset management and capital markets transactions with a law firm or international financial institution/insurance company.
  • Have experience and understanding of financial regulatory and licensing topics in cross-border scenarios
  • Understand the role of the Legal & Compliance Team as control function and participation in risk management
  • Speak and write in English fluently; other languages are a plus.
  • Enjoy working independently and handling multiple requests and deadlines.
