HR Advisor ANZ

About the Role 

 

We have a great opportunity for a proactive and curious HR Advisor to provide high quality payroll, reporting and other system/administrative support in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

 

As a trusted Advisor to the business, you will be required to work with the team to implement progressive Human Resources/payroll strategies and policies to ensure the effective use of human resources to achieve strategic objectives.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the monthly end to end payroll with the vendor for 300+ employees;
  • Recommend and implement appropriate payroll policies and procedures to support the local business operations;
  • Provide payroll related support and advice to managers on day to day payroll/human resource;
  • Monitor and implement changes to remuneration legislation;
  • Preparation of reports for Leadership Teams, People & Culture Committee, WGEA, and other reporting as required;
  • Preparing remuneration and relocation proposals;
  • Manage system onboarding, off boarding, face to face inductions, leave of absences, visas etc;
  • Administration support to Country Head and HR Partner as needed;
  • Implement payroll processes and policies from regional/group;
  • Actively participate in learning activities and apply/implement knowledge and skills;
  • Maintain market intelligence on compensation and benefits to ensure Swiss Re’s competitiveness in attracting and retaining quality people;

The HR Advisor plays a valuable role in the small ANZ HR team which also comprises, Head HR Australia & New Zealand, HR Administration Associates and HR Partner who which provide end to end HR support to the Australian business, leveraging our global HR centres of excellence 

 

About You

 

You will have the knowledge and understanding of payroll and the associated activities and how they integrate/compliment the broader HR function.

 

Experience:

 

  • Extensive experience in managing end to end payroll in a professional services environment;
  • Implementation of payroll legislation and processes;
  • Solid experience with producing dashboards, graphs and powerpoint decks etc from system generated reports; 
  • Adaptability to work in a matrix multicultural/multinational organisation and appreciation of cross-functional cooperation;
  • High degree of independence and initiative;
  • Proven track record in delivering quality results.

 

Skills

 

  • Up to date payroll skills & knowledge;
  • Excellent excel, word and power point skills;
  • Ability to create rapport with and build strong ongoing relationships;
  • Strong, succinct written communication skills;
  • Proactive, organised, detail-oriented and hands-on with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work to agreed timelines;
  • Detail orientated, hands on and have a resourcefulness to work in a complex matrix organisation effectively facilitating cross-functional cooperation;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service orientated mindset;
  • Ability to source and interpret HR/payroll trends;
  • HR operational knowledge would be highly regarded.
