About the Role

 

This is a senior position for a proactive finance manager with strong exposure in the general insurance industry, supporting the Head of Finance in all aspects of financial matters.

 

The primary responsibility includes managing all external regulatory reporting (including APRA lodgment, indirect tax submission) and providing in-depth finance business partnering to internal customers.

 

Your main responsibilities will include, however, are not limited to:

 

  • Controlling quality and timely submission on regulatory financial reporting;

  • Distilling complex financial data with clear and practical insight for management;

  • Building and maintaining analysis of results at the lines of business level;

  • Managing financial projections including capital forecast, by proactively and effectively business partnering across the organisation;

  • Engaging with external customers (e.g., regulators, auditors, tax etc.);

  • Strengthening internal control framework and finance process efficiencies;

  • Supporting strategic financial analysis, including KPI benchmarking in various product segments; and

  • Contributing towards other projects as required.

 

About the Team

 

The Finance team provides financial steering and support to the local business unit.

 

About You

 

  • Degree qualified with CA / CPA full membership, or equivalent;

  • Relevant work experience in the insurance industry, providing value adding, commercial business partnering for senior management;

  • Strong knowledge around AASB 1023 and a preferred understanding of IFRS 17 developments;

  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output on short deadlines, and attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture;

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to inspire and influence others.
