Position objectives and position summary 

  • Generates new business for Middle sized market through relationships with agencies, brokers and corporate clients.
  • Supports Property team in planning and executing actions to meet or exceed budget.
  • Supports Property team in innovating new products and property solutions, especially for Middle sized market.

Main tasks/activities

  • Design and develop a business strategy for middle sized market with Property team.
  • Analyses and assesses technical (re) insurability regarding exposures and coverages on new offers and renewal submissions.
  • Prepares quotations, structured programs and offers proposals in accordance with guidelines.
  • Enters and maintains risk information into the various information systems and administers the accounts.
  • Develops relationships with and seeks business flow from agencies, retail brokers and clients directly in coordination with sales functions.
  • Participates in deal teams to execute transactions.
  • Supports the growth targets of property
  • Supports Head Property in developing strategies and planning actions to achieve growth targets.
  • Executes on initiatives and actions in cooperation with Head Property.
  • Cooperates closely and works in an integrated way with Products underwriters and Nat Cat specialists.
  • Contributes to other project work and accepts special assignments.

 

Representation activities and interaction with other parties

  • Coordinates with Products UW, Risk Engineering Services, CITO, Nat Cat teams and other SR entities where necessary.

 

Business & interpersonal skills

Experience,  knowledge and mind-set

  • Preferably 3+ year experience in property underwriting of Japanese commercial insurance
  • Experience in maintaining resp. building up relationships with brokers, agencies and clients is welcome
  • Understands the value proposition and products with respect to commercial insurance for large corporates in Japan
    - technical understanding
    - willing to learn Swiss Re CorSo product capabilities and being up to date
  • Open mindset and ability to drive innovation
     

Professional skills

  • Technical understanding of property risk assessment and underwriting processes
  • Basic IT skills
  • Master's degree in Risk Management or Engineering is preferred
  • Able to communicate and interact with people from different levels/locations
  • Native Japanese language (writing and speaking), fluent in English
