About the Role

We are seeking a strong actuarial associate or recent graduate to join our dynamic fast-paced team to maintain and build the best in class AXIS models. We will give you the opportunity to work with and be supported by highly skilled industry professionals to develop your knowledge base and skillset to become actuarial leaders of the future.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring timely and robust delivery of model enhancements, along with well-articulated documentation and analysis explaining movements in results
  2. Assisting the formulation of modelling requirements and approaches to support financial reporting and/or portfolio management needs
  3. Developing a good understanding of the models and implementing improvements on a continuous basis
  4. Supporting annual model validation activities to ensure continued accuracy and relevance for ongoing usage in financial reporting and performance management.


About You

  1. You are an Actuarial student with good progress in exams
  2. You have experience in working with complex actuarial models; exposure to the AXIS platform is advantageous, but other actuarial modelling platform usage will be taken into consideration
  3. Your strength will be your excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  4. You are highly motivated with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  5. Familiarity with actuarial reserving practices and products in the Life Insurance Industry is advantageous
  6. You will have good communication, both written and verbal, as you will be working with stakeholders spread over several locations and where meetings take place in a virtual environment and across various cultures
  7. Ability to mentor peers to upskill and share experience.


About the Team

The AXIS Modelling Centre of Excellence (MCoE) team is responsible for the development, maintenance and ongoing support of the AXIS modelling platform, used by Swiss Re L&H Business Management for financial reporting and portfolio management in North America (U.S. and Canada). The team comprises of 20+ people, located in two main offices: Toronto (Canada) and Bangalore (India).

The AXIS MCoE function resides within the L&H Business Management division, which is responsible for the inforce management of Swiss Re's global L&H Reinsurance business.
