About the Role:

Become an integral part of the Global Actuarial Process & Systems team!

Would you like to help us shape the global working environment for the corporate actuarial function in L&H Business Management?

We offer you a great opportunity to design and implement a common global valuation system and reporting process, driving greatly improved standardisation and efficiency across our global operations.

You will play a key role in the Actuarial Operations and Solutions (AOS) team to reshape the actuarial landscape and ensure its future readiness in the face of changing reporting requirements, regulatory changes, and constantly evolving technologies.     

This Senior Actuarial Analyst, Assistant Vice President role is a very flexible position that offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of topics depending on your skills and interest. 


About the Team

Actuarial Operations and Solutions (AOS) plans, builds, operates, and improves Swiss Re's global systems and processes for Life & Health business. We own and operate Swiss Re's largest application and database which is used by regional valuation teams, Finance, Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and other business-steering departments.  We comprehend business challenges in order to provide solutions and make strategic decisions that will help the valuation landscape in preparing for the future by launching or supporting projects.  We have about 15 team members spread across the globe, including Toronto, Armonk, Bangalore, London, and Zurich.  Our strengths stem from the diverse backgrounds and skills of our team members including actuarial (pricing, valuation, AXIS modelling, product development, risk management), testing, information technology, and project management.       


Main duties:

The role can be quite flexible, but the activities would fall into either, or split across both categories below, based on the candidates' skills and interest:

System Change Implementation:

  • Help manage the regular system development releases. From prioritizing the initial scope, to gathering the business requirements to ultimately ensuring the changes are robustly tested
  • The focus here is mainly on change management, stakeholder management and system solutions

Business Process and Controls:

  • Help enhance the existing global process documentation, including the regional valuation controls
  • It could also include a number of project pieces relating to standardizing processes globally
  • The focus here is mainly on documentation, business process, controls, and stakeholder management.

About you

  • 5+ years of recent relevant experience in an actuarial-oriented position
  • Recent FSA  or currently sitting and making progress with actuarial exams.
  • Effective at working with virtual cross-functional teams across the globe.
  • Good knowledge of the end-to-end reporting process.
  • Driven to deliver ambitious targets and effective at generating enthusiasm for the same.
  • Proactive and able to work within an uncertain and continually evolving environment.
  • Past exposure to projects or system solutions would be advantageous.
