About the role

This position represents an exciting opportunity to be embedded in an entrepreneurial environment. You will work with colleagues across different locations (Vaduz, Zurich, Dublin) who contribute to developing analytics services and solutions. You will support the medical insurance team and other business departments by generating insights and creating data-driven products from structured and unstructured data for business and strategic initiatives. The technological basis for your solutions is the strategic Palantir Foundry platform. The role also involves strong collaboration with business functions, colleagues and peers, as well as third party vendors.

In particular you will:
 
•    Leverage data to develop innovative analytics products using various analytics/data science techniques
•    Build solutions that enable to grow revenue and/or increase operational efficiency
•    Use your strong background in algorithms to implement scalable data pipelines
•    Break down large and complex projects in smaller parts that you can implement independently

The Actuarial Insights team sits within the Underwriting Division of Corporate Solutions. We equip the Underwriting Community with world class analytics, models, processes, and skills to drive success in the market. It is a dynamic team based across a broad geographical area with a global reach.
 

About You
 

Are you a self-starter with a keen interest in new technology and motivated, energetic and enthusiastic about using technology to address business challenges? Can you bring new digital solutions and business processes to life through creation of the right culture and demeanour? Are you data driven and tech savvy having experience of agile working practices and understanding of the user journey?
 

•    University degree (or similar) in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics or Engineering
•    Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, storage systems, cloud infrastructure
•    Knowledge about frontend development frameworks is a plus
•    In depth skills on various technologies needed for data science and data engineering
•    Proficiency with programming/scripting languages such as Python/PySpark, R, Java, SQL or similar
•    In-depth knowledge of distributed computing frameworks/Spark
•    Knowledge of Palantir Foundry platform is nice to have
•    Ability to work effectively in teams with both technical and non-technical individuals in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives
•    Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and results in a clear and precise manner to non-technical audiences
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    English fluent is a requirement, German or any other language is a plus
•    Experience in insurance/reinsurance or financial industry is a plus
