About the Role

 

Our MGA Operations team is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Underwriting Compliance Analyst who has a passion for handling a diverse set of responsibilities.  If you enjoy taking initiative to lead research, are determined to reach resolution for issues and have outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail then our team is for you!  

Our Analysts are integral members of the Managing General Agent (MGA) team, working closely with the Program Manager on assigned MGA's.  We manage MGA partnerships alongside the business units, as well as multiple other functions.  The role offers exposure to multiple lines of business and all functions within Corporate Solutions, and provides direct support to the Program Managers, communicating directly with our external MGA clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Handle complex programs and associated analysis, triage priorities and managed projects
  • Run analytics and quantitative analyses in support the oversight of our MGA partners
  • Partner with the entire client service team to monitor MGA program operational and underwriting oversight requirements
  • Identify issues and develop solutions that demonstrate customer focus as well as meet internal requirements
  • Conduct remote annual audits for assigned MGA programs to ensure form and rate compliance, and adherence to contractual agreement between MGA and Corporate Solutions
  • Coordinate state rate, rule and form filings for assigned MGA programs in conjunction with the Program Manager and Regulatory Operations, and communicating status of filings to the MGA programs
  • Work closely with statistical compliance team to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements. Demonstrate timely identification and correction of internal and external activities to prevent and correct compliance issues
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are handled timely and accurately in order to meet compliance standards
  • Support updates and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures

 

 

Ideally, the position is based in the Kansas City, KS or Windsor, CT office.

 

 

About the Team

 

The North America MGA team handles MGA relationships for Corporate Solutions, that are either retained or ceded to our Reinsurance colleagues. We are also part of our international MGA team, building consistent processes across regions to ensure our MGA and Facilities portfolio runs efficiently and compliantly.  Some of our key colleagues are based in Zurich, London, and Sydney.

 

Our MGA Operations team is interdisciplinary and multi-cultural with open, curious, quick-minded and creative fast-learners.  We pride ourselves on great communication skills and the ability to present ideas in a clear and thoughtful manner.  And we thrive on cooperation, meeting the challenge and great work!

 

 

About You

 

  • Insurance background is a must
  • University degree, insurance course work, or work experience equivalent, which includes direct experience working with Commercial lines products and coverages
  • Experience in corporate processes and cross-functional teamwork to accomplish results
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements relating to rate, form and rule filings, cancellation and non-renewal, admitted and non-admitted market, etc.
  • Adept at balancing multiple priorities and works effectively under tight timeframes in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Strong skillset in Microsoft suite products, especially Word and Excel (including formulas and pivot tables) and can assimilate sophisticated information
  • Proficient in research and a knack for handling data
  • Independent problem-solver using creativity, and past experiences with similar, but different situations
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
