About the Programme 


We are looking for graduates with strong interpersonal skills, who are eager to learn and broaden their knowledge and expertise.

About the role 


In this role you will: 

  • Contribute to the successful execution of Swiss Re's global cyber reinsurance strategy! 

  • Learn and familiarise with the concepts of underwriting, reinsurance and cyber insurance products 

  • Support the underwriters in assessing and developing cyber reinsurance opportunities 

  • Ensure costing adequacy and support the development of Cyber costing tools and methods 

  • Support the critical initiatives of the cyber reinsurance portfolio by contributing to group-wide and reinsurance projects 

  • Build internal and external relationships with all stakeholders from clients and brokers to group-based cyber research functions 

  • Be hungry to learn: Ask questions and challenge the status quo! 


About the team 


The cyber reinsurance team at Swiss Re sits within the Specialty division with the Reinsurance business unit. We are a growing and global team with underwriting colleagues based in Bangalore, London, New York and Zurich.

We have an underwriting team of 8 consisting of a diverse range of experience and backgrounds 

The underwriting team is closely supported by our own data and analytics team in addition to a global dedicated group of claims professionals and cyber centre of competence.

The team is also supported by a wider cross functional team including contracts experts and reserving experts 


About You 


  • Successfully completed university degree, preferably (but not necessarily) in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Cyber/Computing related subject 

  • Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance 

  • Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner 

  • Innovative, showing a high degree of own initiative 

  • Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit 

  • Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment, and to be mobile in terms of workplace or location if required 

  • Aptitude to express yourself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups 

  • Mature & self-confident; able to work with clients, business partners or senior colleagues 

  • Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment 

  • Proven expertise to work independently and proactively 

  • Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture 

  • Excellent oral and written English skills; additional language skills advantageous but not essential 

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
