We’re looking for a student keen to experience working in an interesting, friendly environment supporting our Risk Engineering Center team in different core and smaller projects.

About the team


Risk Engineering Services is a global team that applies technical expertise to identify, analyse and evaluate risks primarily on behalf of Corporate Solutions Underwriters but also including loss prevention service offerings directly to our insured clients. Among others, this provides our internal underwriters with the basis for successful risk selection, capacity allocation and accurate costing. Our team has a broad range of different technical and scientific backgrounds and experience. Our excellent technical expertise is complemented by a strong team spirit looking for alternative and innovative risk assessment methods to make the world more resilient.


The opportunity


Our Risk Engineering Center team is dedicated to the development and maintenance of the core services and products of the large international Risk Engineering group. You’ll support our Risk Engineering Center team in a variety of projects such as establishing a guidelines database, developing/maintaining/improving different excel based tools, gathering information regarding technical topics including natural hazards related, research/update and management of technical documents, establishing web-based communication tools and others.



About you


You’ve qualified for university or have already enrolled and are interested in technical topics (preferred branches: engineering, natural science, economics or alike). You are fully fluent in English. You are literate in MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Sharepoint, Ourspace, you are familiar with MS Access and databases, and you know how to carry out Internet searches. Programming skills (e.g. Visual Basics) and ability to write SQL queries are a plus. You have strong organizational skills and you are at ease with working on different parallel tasks and projects for an international team. You’re accurate and flexible and have a feel for quantitative analysis and working with data. You’re a team worker, keen to learn and able to work on your own.


We expect you to commit to working fulltime for a minimum of 6 months.

Duration of internship: 6-9 months, starting 1.February.2019
