About the role

 

Innovation is a meaningful trend in Credit & Surety reinsurance (C&S). As a knowledge company, Swiss Re is driving innovation by crafting new products and offer news services to their clients. In particular, the SME segment is currently underserved in terms of credit covers, so this will be a focus area of this internship.
In this role you will do market research and help design new products in the credit space (including costing approach, estimate of capacity, etc). Different products will be explored, with a focus on the SME segment (examples include parametric products, e-commerce or microinsurance). You will support the team in assessing/declining opportunities and develop further the ones that have more potential. You will work closely with the business users as well as actuaries and external parties.

 

About the team

 

Credit & Surety Reinsurance is the business unit at Swiss Re that offers customized credit risk solutions for specialized and multiline insurers across the globe. We are considered as a leading, long-standing and highly professional market partner for trade credit-related lines of business. Embedded in Reinsurance – Property & Specialty, our team of dedicated specialists focuses on underwriting credit, surety and political risk treaty and facultative reinsurance products. 
 

About you

 

  • Background in Finance or Economics (other quantitative fields such as statistics, mathematics would also be suitable)
  • Exceptional analytical skills and passion for the financial services industry
  • Excellent oral and written English. Other language like Spanish or German are a plus
  • Standout colleague who naturally brings individuals together as needed, across countries and functions
  • Reliable, empathetic, Forward-thinking, creative and enthusiastic
  • Delivers high quality work also under pressure
  • Outstanding organisational skills

 

Duration of internship: 4-6 months, starting March 2021!
