About the Role

Are you interested in supporting our P&C Solutions team with analytics capabilities and machine learning techniques to derive tangible business insights from structured and unstructured data sources?


As an intern in our team you are responsible for transforming data into risk insights using algorithms, machine learning and other suitable data modeling techniques. This includes:


  • Supporting the development of an innovative solution in the re/insurance industry
  • Contributing to tasks and client projects involving descriptive and predictive analysis leveraging a variety of machine and deep learning techniques
  • Supporting the design and development of predictive modeling and business intelligence solutions
  • Extracting data and perform segmentation and statistical analyses on large data sets (using languages such as R, SQL or Python)


About the Team


The Solution team has embarked on developing a novel data driven underwriting capability that can support our reinsurance customers grow their business and contribute to our growth ambition.


The project fosters and applies agile work practices and project management principles, with a focus on specific milestones/tollgates so that we can deliver a shippable product within a short timeframe.


The team fosters a start-up mode mentality with a spirit of high energy, positivity and commitment to go above and beyond the pre-defined mandate.


About You


Are you a skilled, open-minded individual who can manage ambiguity and is not afraid to walk unchartered territory?


  • You hold a Bachelor or are in your Master studies, showing a strong academic performance in a quantitative discipline (computer science, natural sciences, applied mathematics / statistics, engineering, econometrics)
  • Knowledge of programming language (e.g. Python or R)
  • You show profound skills in research and a knack for handling data
  • You are experienced in working with relational databases and SQL
  • You provide knowledge of basic machine learning algorithms and libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, NLTK or TensorFlow)
  • You persuade with good knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
  • Problem-solving skills with a strong analytical and entrepreneurial mind-set
  • You are methodical, well-organised and dispose of strong communication skills
  • Ambitious and able to adapt according to deadline requirements
  • Great teammate with a 'can do' attitude and an open and curious mindset
  • You are passionate to work in an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural environment
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)


We are looking for a student or recent graduate for 3-5 days per week, starting as soon as possible for 4-6 months.
