About the Role


This is a unique opportunity to see technology from a different angle: As an intern in iptiQ EMEA L&H of Life Capital you will mirror the Chief Technology and Operations Officer (CTOO) in his role as Chief Operations Officer (COO) and as such participate in all his day-to-day activities, understand and contribute to strategic decisions, experience what it means to operate enterprise software and learn about the insurance business.

 

Tasks to be performed could include:

  • Assist the CTOO in defining the Operations strategy
  • Participate in key strategic projects (e.g., optimization of key business processes)
  • Liaise with key stakeholders in business and local peers
  • Perform service reviews
  • Participate in selected meetings with members of the CTOO Management team and iptiQ's Executive team
  • Independently conduct analysis (excel), prepare presentation (PowerPoint) and explain your results

About the Team


iptiQ is a unit within the newly built Swiss Re Life Capital; established to deliver white-label life insurance solutions to be sold through partners, directly to consumers. We are a young, motivated and technology driven team, organized to provide creative solutions for life insurance distributors across Europe that engage with consumers in non-traditional ways.Through our strong operational infrastructure, creative thinking, insurance know-how and ecommerce competences we want to drive the digitalization of the life insurance business in Europe.

 

About You

 

  • You are in your Master studies or have recently completed your Master with an outstanding academic track record in economics, management, engineering or similar field (top 5% of students)
  • Do you engage in broad extra-curricular activities which prove your ability to work with different people?
  • Excellent analytical skills and passion for online sales channels
  • Excellent oral and written English, other language like French, German are a plus
  • Curiosity and willingness to step out of your comfort zone
  • Good understanding on process design, optimization and automation as well as of outsourcing and offshoring
  • Team player who naturally brings individuals together as needed, across countries and functions
  • Reliable, open-minded, creative and enthusiastic
  • Are you able to work at a high standard on your own as well as in a variety of project teams?
  • Strong excel and power point skills

 

Duration of internship: 5-6 months, starting May 2019
