Your main activities will include:
- supporting client managers in the engagement with Governments, International Organisations and other public sector partners in order to discuss, advance and close risk transfer solutions with a focus on the Middle East region.
- collaborating with subject matter experts to develop innovative solutions to the identified risk financing needs.
- supporting your team on research tasks with regard to specific risks, country and political situations to advise on clients' needs and how insurance and capital markets solutions can help handle their exposures to unexpected risks.
- preparing conferences and presentations, writing concept notes, project proposals and discussion notes.
About the Team
The Public Sector Solutions team focuses on risk transfer and insurance solutions across all risks: natural catastrophes and weather risks, agriculture, credit & surety and life & health. To reach our visionary targets, we are looking for an Intern supporting our client managers for the region of Middle East and Africa (MEA) by working with them alongside client interactions, project development and implementation.
About You
- You are pursuing or have just completed a Master's degree, preferably in International Affairs, Economics or Natural Sciences.
- You are passionate about addressing global challenges such as climate change and working on delivering pragmatic solutions to everyday problems.
- You are looking forward to working with internal and external customers as well as taking responsibility and deliver work in a timely and high-quality manner.
- You dispose of analytical skills which enable you to identify business potential to help replicate successful transactions across regions and potential clients.
- You are a hardworking self-starter, able to run on your own.
- You face challenges in a persistent and persevere manner.
- Good communication, presentation and writing skills as well as the ability to be an advocate for Public Sector Solution internally and externally are key for you.
- You persuade with an effective work culture and proven research skills.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic, other languages are a plus.
Duration of internship: 3 months; preferred start October or November 2023. The position is Zurich based.
