As a SAP FPSL Developer you will optimize and enhance our FPSL system with your deep technical knowledge and architectural background. You will dive into Calculation and Valuation Process Manager (CVPM) settings to get the most out of the underlying infrastructure in close collaboration with our SAP Platform team. As an experienced ABAP developer you can provide advice to implementation teams, but you will also code yourself hands-on and fix issues in FPSL in close collaboration with SAP.


Besides the purely technical aspects, you will work closely together with business analysts to find solutions tailored to the technology stack. You will actively participate in both specification and the build phase of an implementation.


Your main tasks will include:


  • FPSL system tuning with a focus on performance 
  • Implementation and operation of technical processes such as  data loads and data life cycle management
  • Providing ABAP coding expertise to project teams and coding of small ABAP programs. 
  • Provide guidance to system and business analysts how to optimize their FPSL processes
  • Gather technical requirements, preparing specifications and customizing solutions
  • 3rd level operations support on critical incidents
  • Ensuring compliance with the company wide digital governance framework and audits
  • Documenting your work in Atlassian Jira and Confluence

About You


  • Strong architectural understanding of FPSL with a developer background
  • ABAP Programming and HANA modeling (SQL, HANA Calculation & CDS views and AMDP programming) skills
  • Hands-on experience as system analyst in the development of technical specifications, data modeling
  • Solid knowledge of the FPSL or any of its predecessors gained in at least one full implementations cycle
  • Sound understanding of Accounting, Controlling and Banking processes, preferably in the re-/insurance or broader financial sector environment
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking, and a structured way of working and an ability to get things done
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English (speaking, writing)
  • Knowledge and practical application of Agile/ Scrum methodology

The IFRS Delivery Programme is a multi-year program, which is transforming and harmonizing the financial accounting and reporting platform and operating model for the three Swiss Re Business Units: Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions and IptiQ. The programme consists of a number of projects including financial reporting and analysis, one common general ledger (SAP) and a market leading approach to multi-valuation insurance accounting (SAP Financial Products Sub-Ledger – FPSL). Using this cutting-edge technology, we are enabling the implementation of both the IFRS Local and Group Financial reporting as well as other integrated valuations.
