About the Role


The IFRS Delivery Programme is a multi-year program, which will transform and harmonize the financial accounting and reporting platform and operating model for the three Swiss Re Business Units: Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions and IptiQ. The programme consists of a number of projects including financial reporting and analysis, one common general ledger (SAP) and a market leading approach to multi-valuation insurance accounting (SAP Financial Products Sub-Ledger – FPSL). Using this groundbreaking technology, we are enabling the implementation of both the IFRS Local and Group Financial reporting. Your main responsibilities:


  • Improve and roll out a new sub-ledger system with a focus on IFRS 17

  • End-to-end integration testing

  • Analyze results and identify error pattern in large data volumes

  • Support the development of automated validations of the best estimate cashflow generation and (re)insurance accounting across all types of traditional L&H business

  • Collaborate closely with other project teams and end-users to develop solutions or support problem resolution


About the Team


As part of our programme, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a Finance software implementation that has become the new industry standard for (Re)Insurance. As a Senior Business Analyst within (Re) Insurance Accounting, you will be a member of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Accounting and Actuarial Business Experts, IT Business Analysts and Application Engineers. The team is responsible for the design, implementation and testing of improvements to an end-to-end system and process that was introduced over the last years. Furthermore, the team will be heavily engaged in the rollout of this solution to additional Swiss Re legal entities.


About you


Business and accounting understanding

  • Good understanding of IFRS17 financial reporting for Life & Health products and ability to document and communicate them effectively with business owner(s), customers and team members

  • Evaluates potential solutions to ensure requirements are aligned with the accounting standards and can be implemented


System knowledge and project experience

  • Prior implementation of a sub-ledger preferred

  • Understanding of end-to-end system landscape and how the data flows from the source to produce the required bookings and reports

  • Engaged participation in the agile project delivery following a DevOps approach


Testing & Validation

  • Can formulate and document test cases to ensure we can meet specified business requirements

  • Can effectively conduct tests (also on a large data set), substantiation and root cause analysis to understand why results are not as expected and follow-up on them accordingly


Personal skills

  • Excellent teammate with a high degree of personal accountability

  • Strong delivery focus as well as analytical capabilities

  • Ability to work under stress and to cope with peak time

  • Problem solving demeanor: ability to break-down complex issues into relevant details and solvable actions

  • Knowledge of existing landscape in Swiss Re Finance IT (in particular LFD / LHSL) is preferred

  • Effective communication skills with the different partners
