About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Extended Warranty underwriter, ideally from the insurance sector, with experience in wider Affinity-related product suits, to underwrite business and support Swiss Re's client teams across the globe. Your job will entail examining, underwriting and developing facultative and treaty business in accordance with defined marketing objectives and financial targets. Your main focus will be to identify and exploit new business opportunities.

 

Some duties of the team:

  • It is upon us to develop and execute a strategic plan for the sustainable growth of our global Extended Warranty book of business.
  • We originate and underwrite Extended Warranty covers and deploy coverages according to risk quality and Group guidelines.
  • We market and promote Swiss Re vis-à-vis clients, brokers and associations, with the aim of developing personal relationships. We define optimal solutions for our clients based on our solid product know-how and in collaboration with our global network of specialists.
  • We will develop an internal training programme to transfer knowledge to underwriters around the globe.
  • We travel as required.

Our performance is being looked at based upon bottom line results and market impact, but also on behavioural aspects. Furthermore, we will continue developing the Special Risks team – which, amongst others, is responsible for the Extended Warranty product – in order to further expand our book business.

About You:

Professional / educational experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Extended Warranty Underwriting preferably in the insurance sector. You should bring a comprehensive set of underwriting know-how and extensive experience in this product line.
  • We seek for a distinct ambitious mindset to use your entrepreneurial freedom to be successful. This and your relationship management skills will enable you to develop a solid deal pipeline. Ideally, you entertain a comprehensive network of business contacts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is key. Any additional language is an advantage.
  • Experienced to work in an international environment.

  • Solution and result oriented, ability to deliver, pragmatic and efficient. An explicit can do mentality is a requirement.

The continuous development and further conceptual build-up of Extended Warranty know-how in Swiss Re and it's sharing amongst the Reinsurance Business Unit will be an important duty.
