Specialty Internship: Offshore wind
Offshore wind
By some estimates more than USD 10bn will be invested in renewable energy infrastructure over the next decade.
The offshore windfarming model is widely expected to become a large renewable electricity production capacity, along with onshore windfarming and solar (photovoltaic panels). This is a very relevant topic for our industry due both to the sizeable developments this technology is witnessing, along with the long-term investment decision associated with establishing a new windfarm offshore. And of course, the marine offshore environment brings its own additional challenges.
With the technology rapidly evolving and scaling up, and the ESG impacts over the full lifecycle of wind turbines currently not fully understood, we believe it is both relevant and exciting to investigate the lifecycle of key renewable energies and any implications. This work will help craft our approach to this sector, with the strive to support the transition to net zero and make the world more resilient.

- Review of available insurance protections to identify any "protection gaps"
