CANDIDATES
1. Applying for Roles & Job Search |
You must first create a candidate profile on our careers portal, then search and apply for open positions. All positions open to external candidates are published on our careers portal under Our opportunities > Search all jobs. We cannot accept spontaneous applications or CVs. If there are currently no positions that match your interests, we recommend checking our careers portal regularly or setting up a job alert. To do this, select My Profile, log in, and go to Options > Job Alerts to be notified when new positions are posted. Our careers portal always shows the most up‑to‑date vacancies under Our opportunities > Search all jobs. If a position has been closed, it will no longer appear on our website. Vacancies on external platforms such as LinkedIn and/or eFinancialCareers etc. may take some time to be updated. To find current open temporary positions, search our careers portal using the keyword “temporary”. Swiss Re offers an employee referral programme that allows employees to refer candidates for open positions. All referred applications are reviewed in line with the same selection criteria as other candidates. |
2. Recruitment Process & Timelines |
Our recruitment process usually includes an application review followed by phone or video screening and interviews (technical & competency based). Depending on the role, there may also be assessments /case study or additional conversations. The exact process can vary by position and location, but we aim to keep candidates informed throughout each stage. The length of the hiring process varies depending on the role, location, and number of applicants. While timelines can differ, we aim to progress candidates as efficiently as possible and communicate next steps throughout the process. We aim to provide personal feedback to candidates who participate in interviews. Due to the high volume of applications, we may not be able to provide individual feedback at every stage of the process; however, you will receive a system notification regarding your application status. |

We cannot accept any applications via email. 6. Students, Graduates & Early Careers |
For details about our internship programmes and available opportunities, please visit our Career Starters page. For details about available apprentice and trainee positions, as well as information on how to apply, please visit our Apprentices & Trainees page. Eligibility criteria vary by programme and role. Internships and early‑career programmes are typically open to students, graduates, or individuals at an early stage of their professional career. Specific requirements are outlined in the respective job postings. Some internships or trainee roles may lead to permanent opportunities, depending on business needs and individual performance. However, progression into a permanent role is not guaranteed. |
7. Offers, Compensation & Onboarding (High-level) |
Compensation is typically discussed early in the recruitment process to ensure alignment on expectations. Where applicable, pay ranges are included in the job posting to support pay transparency. The specific salary offered is determined based on the requirements, scope, complexity, and responsibilities of the role, and the candidate’s profile, including education and qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills, and relevant experience. After you accept an offer, our team will guide you through the next steps, including pre‑employment checks and onboarding preparations. You will receive further information to support a smooth transition into your new role. |
AGENCIES
1. Agency Access, Systems & Log-On |
Swiss Re operates a strict Preferred Supplier List (PSL) of approved agencies with whom we work on an ongoing basis. Only agencies on the Preferred Supplier List are provided with login details and are permitted to submit candidate applications. We do not accept applications via email or from non‑approved agencies. The Preferred Supplier List is reviewed annually in December. If you wish to present your agency for consideration as Swiss Re provider, please follow the instructions provided in "How can my agency become listed on the Preferred Supplier List". Approved agencies must submit candidate profiles exclusively through the Swiss Re Agency Portal, in line with the agreed contractual terms and instructions provided when an agency is engaged. Agencies can not submit candidates directly to recruiters or hiring managers. All candidate submissions must be made exclusively through the designated system and follow the formal agency submission process. Profiles submitted through any other channel will not be accepted or considered. For technical or operational questions, agencies should use the Contact Us option on the Swiss Re careers or agency portal, or follow the contact instructions provided as part of their agency onboarding and agreement. |
2. Preferred Supplier List (PSL) & Agency Eligibility |
The Preferred Supplier List is reviewed on an annual basis in December. If you wish to present your agency for consideration as part of this review, please submit all relevant information via Contact Us, clearly stating your agency name in the subject line. Please also include details of your areas of expertise. Swiss Re works with a Preferred Supplier List globally across several regions. |
3. Candidate Submissions & Ownership Rules |
We cannot accept any spontaneous applications or CV submissions from agencies. Open positions are published on our Career page under the overview of open jobs. If there are currently no roles open to agencies, or no roles that match your candidate(s), we recommend checking the Careers page regularly for newly published positions and awaiting direct contact from Swiss Re where agency support is required. We expect agencies to submit only candidates who closely match the role requirements. When submitting a candidate profile, agencies must upload only the original candidate CV through the designated system. Any additional information (such as availability, compensation expectations, or context notes) must be shared separately via email, as instructed by Swiss Re. After an agency submits a candidate via the system, the candidate receives an Invitation to Apply email. The candidate must follow this notification and complete their application by searching for the specific position ID, using the same email address under which they were submitted by the agency. This step is required to formally capture the candidate’s consent and allows Swiss Re to continue processing the application. Agencies will be informed of the next steps in line with the recruitment process. |
4. Temporary, Contract & Contingent Workforce |
Swiss Re operates a strict Preferred Supplier List of approved agencies for temporary and contractor positions. Only agencies on this list are permitted to submit candidates for such roles. We do not accept candidate submissions via email or from non‑approved agencies for either temporary or contractor positions. |
