Product Delivery Lead Common Components

About the Role 

We are seeking a senior leader to drive future-oriented data operations on Swiss Re's strategic data and analytics management platform. You will be the product lead for common data operations capabilities, so called common components. As the Product Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, engineers, and domain experts across all Business Units and Group Functions. Your mission: to scale adoption, continuously improve platform capabilities, and ensure our data operations remain robust, future-ready, and business-aligned. 

 

About the Team 

You will join the global Group Data Services (GDS) organization of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer. The organization consists of teams of enthusiastic data engineers, architects and platform specialists dedicated to realizing the full potential of Swiss Re's data. We engage with all parts of the company, enabling them to formulate and implement data ambitions, to develop group-wide data assets and to provide data-driven products and services to our clients. The platform you will work with is internally known as "Stargate"; a Palantir Foundry-based data platform that underpins a petabyte-scale data ecosystem of the Swiss Re group. The company uses it to perform a wide range of data processing tasks, building data integration solutions, advanced analytics and even state-of-the-art AI-based automated decision making.

Key Responsibilities 

 

Product Ownership and Strategy 
Define and drive the vision, roadmap, and lifecycle of common components—core services like load management, data quality management, metadata management - ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy. 

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 
Partner with data architects, engineers, governance teams, and business stakeholders across all units to understand needs, gather feedback, and prioritize enhancements that benefit the further evolution of common components. 

 

Platform Enablement and Adoption 
Promote the adoption of common components across the organization by delivering well-documented, user-friendly capabilities and providing enablement support (e.g., training, documentation, office hours). 

 

Operational Excellence 
Oversee the reliable and scalable operation of common components, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with internal and external standards. 

 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement 
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to evolve capabilities. Drive proof-of-concepts and pilot innovations that can be industrialized at scale. 

 

Governance and Risk Management 
Ensure that common components support enterprise data governance policies, including data protection, access management, and auditability, while minimizing operational risks.

About You 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a data engineer 
  • Experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines in Spark-based environments. 
  • Data engineering and data modelling fundamentals, experience in data integration topics and solutions and experience with software solutions lifecycle, process and approach
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL and also NoSQL systems 
  • Proficiency using Python, Spark; hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry or Databricks or similar 
  • Java, TypeScript or other full-stack experience is a plus 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working in collaborative and independent environments.

  • Understanding of (Re)insurance or financial services data needs. 
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar. 

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 3,300] and [EUR 5,400] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.

Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
