About the Role
The main focus of this role is to perform detailed analyses on client financials and explore strategic needs in order to identify profitable business opportunities for Swiss Re. Through your interactions as the Business Development Intern you will have close collaboration with other functional areas within Swiss Re including Client Markets, Products, and Finance, as well as with colleagues globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solid understanding of basic corporate finance and financial analysis.
- Prepare financial models projecting income statements, balance sheets, and capital structures
- Coordinate the development of high quality analytics and client related presentation materials
About the Team
The Business Development team works within both the Property & Casualty and Life & Health areas of Swiss Re and potential exists for access to both.
About You
- In Junior year of an undergrad degree program or first year Graduate students with exceptional academic performance (GPA of 3.0 and above)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, hardworking, analytical, and proactive
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills are vital and computer proficiency is required (pivot tables, formulas, vlookups), Bloomberg and/or S&P Capital IQ experience is a plus
- Ability to sustain high level of work output and meet very tight deadlines
For New York City, the base salary will be $20-$30 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, projected graduation year and/or highest degree held.
