About the Claims Analyst Role:

As a Claims Analyst within our Life & Health Claims team, you will develop expertise in assessing and managing claims while supporting Swiss Re's commitment to delivering fair, timely, and thoughtful claim outcomes for our clients.

You will primarily focus on mortality claims while gaining exposure to additional Life & Health product lines, including group life, accidental death, disability income, and waiver of premium claims. Through a combination of on-the-job learning, coaching, and collaboration with colleagues across underwriting and client management, you'll build a strong foundation in claims assessment, risk analysis, and client service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of claims from first notification through final resolution, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent claim handling.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle mortality, group life, accidental death, disability income, and waiver of premium claims.

  • Analyze policy terms, coverage provisions, and claim documentation to determine eligibility and claim outcomes.

  • Conduct detailed claim investigations, evaluate medical and financial information, and document claim files appropriately.

  • Apply technical expertise, sound judgment, and analytical thinking to achieve fair and prompt claim resolutions.

  • Complete detailed reviews of claim-related issues and maintain accurate claim records and documentation.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate claim reviews and consultations for clients.

  • Maintain a strong client focus by proactively researching issues, responding to inquiries, and helping ensure a high level of client satisfaction.

  • Partner closely with underwriters and other internal stakeholders to provide claims consultation, support coverage discussions, and share claims insights.

  • Contribute claims expertise to business initiatives, changes in claims philosophy, best practices, and process improvements.

  • Support the development of claims processes, systems, and operational enhancements.

  • Contribute to claims reporting, trend analysis, and business intelligence activities to support decision-making.

  • Participate in training, audits, claim seminars, and professional development opportunities to strengthen technical expertise.

  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring relevant claims perspectives are considered in broader business activities.

  • Adhere to risk management standards, regulatory requirements, and company best practices.

Throughout the programme, you will follow a structured development plan tailored to your strengths and career aspirations, with ongoing feedback and exposure to colleagues across Swiss Re's Life & Health organization.

About the Team:

You will join Swiss Re's Life & Health Claims team, a collaborative group of professionals located across multiple offices throughout the United States.

Our team is responsible for managing and resolving Life & Health claims while supporting clients, underwriters, and business partners with technical expertise and thoughtful guidance. We work in a highly collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives, continuous learning, and independent thinking.

As a graduate, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced claims professionals, build a strong internal network, and gain insight into how claims contributes to Swiss Re's broader mission of making the world more resilient.
