About the programme

We are looking for graduates with strong interpersonal skills, who are eager to learn and broaden their knowledge and expertise. You have a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree with up to 3 years professional experience – we invite you to apply to our graduates@swissre programme 2022.


The programme offers you the chance to join the dynamic, fast-moving world of a leading risk knowledge organisation. Over an 18-month period, you’ll receive on-and-off-the-job training, including a job rotation that gives you the opportunity to work across different business units.


About the Role

The individual in this role will work directly with the Head of US L&H Reporting and, at times, other managers on the team to perform the following primary activities:

  • Performing overall analysis of clients including their financial results, strategy and senior leadership
  • Support the development of materials to be presented internally and externally related to different technical areas (e.g., Global economy, mortality losses, accounting guidance, etc).
  • Participate on internal client cross functional calls and provide insight and support for those client teams from a Finance standpoint, where appropriate.


The role may also require support with the following activities to a lesser degree:

  • Participate in certain activities related to the quarterly close as necessary.
  • Provide support around aspects of the adoption of IFRS.


About the team


The US L&H Reporting team has 25 team members located in the US and Bangalore. The team is responsible for US GAAP, and US Statutory Reporting for all of Swiss Re's Life and Health business in the US. In addition to quarterly reporting, the team has been focused on supporting Swiss Re's implementation of IFRS (for 2024) and increasing Finance's internal and external client relationships. 


About You

  • Successfully completed university degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Actuarial Sciences
  • Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance products and business strategy
  • Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
  • Innovative, showing a high degree of own initiative
  • Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
  • Mature & self-confident; Able to work with clients, business partners or senior colleagues
  • Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
