Lead Cloud Engineer

As a Lead DevOps Engineer for iptiQ Americas, you will be reporting to the Head of Cloud Infrastructure and will be working on several of the key technology initiatives leveraging cutting edge data, cloud, automation and integration technologies. You will be working with some of the brightest and smartest people who are set to change the insurance industry.
Working within the CTO organization, you will build and support cloud-based solutions, improving practices working with a revolutionary technology stack. You will be part of the team responsible to automate away any manual or inefficient process when managing our cloud infrastructure and develop small code and scripts to prevent or minimize the impact of incidents, making our infrastructure more scalable and resilient. In this position, you will partner with vendors and architects on solution frameworks and perform cloud automation and strategic improvements of multiple systems across environments maintaining desired security levels for services in the cloud.

About You
Responsibilities
- Design and architect AWS and network infrastructure to accommodate application needs and scale
- Perform and lead CI/CD, pipeline management, containerization and infrastructure deployment, setting guidelines and bringing best practices to the organization
- Perform operations of cloud-based solutions for network services, tools, systems observability and day-to-day activities
- Using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and lead automation solutions and continuously improve processes and service operations.
- Be responsible for all Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps processes, pipelines and deployments
- Manage and improve Operation Management Technologies - Log aggregation, server Monitoring, process and performance monitoring, application E2E Monitoring
- Implement incident handling and establish runbooks
- Solve technical, business, and/or process related challenges through infrastructure-as-a-service or platform-as-a-service
- Evaluate new tools and technologies for enhancing processes and provide technical vision and roadmaps
- Work with vendors and contractors as needed
Qualifications
- 6+ years of Hands-on experience with deploying, configuring, automating and testing Cloud solutions
- 6+ years in software development executing extremely complex IT projects
- Hands-on experience with AWS products, Terraform, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies, including: AWS(Must), Azure
- Experience with server less computing like AWS Lambda and AWS Fargate
- Experience with containerization technologies, including: Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience with centralized logging and metrics collection systems.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI is a plus
- Experience in Terraform(Must), Ansible, Logstash
- Minimum 2 years' experience with a Scrum and Agile based environment
- Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration
- Good Understanding of SDLC practices, and defect management
- Ability to create well-written documentation and procedures, create dashboards/reports to provide transparency and visibility for the results of strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to execute tasks from start to finish with sufficient technical knowledge
Other Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Math or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the insurance industry (life) is a plus
- Information and Cloud Security experience is a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
- Ability to work under high pressure and handle multiple priorities
- Demonstrate ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical issues
For Armonk the estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $192,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
