Legacy Origination Manager

Swiss Re is looking for a self-driven Legacy Origination Manager providing a unique opportunity for a commercially driven individual who excels at building client relationships, thinking creatively to unlock opportunities and driving deals from concept to completion.
About the Role
Embedded within Property & Casualty (P&C) Re Operations, this is a highly cross-functional role where you will collaborate closely with the Reinsurance Structuring Teams, the Market Units managing Swiss Re's client relationships and Operations Teams responsible for commutations, portfolio management and claims topics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and lead the entire legacy origination cycle, from market screening to client engagement and to deal negotiations
- Develop a proactive, customized client management approach targeted at carriers of legacy (re)insurance portfolios, including reinsurers, cedents, captives, and other (re)insurance pools
- Build and manage transaction pipeline, including Portfolio Transfers (Novations), Loss Portfolio Transfers, Adverse Development Covers etc.
- Expand Swiss Re’s footprint and presence in the Legacy reinsurance market
- Represent Swiss Re at industry events and conferences, enhancing brand visibility and fostering strategic partnerships
- Ensure close alignment and collaboration with internal stakeholders, supporting knowledge-sharing and coaching, contributing to Swiss Re’s thought leadership in the legacy transaction space
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated, results-driven professional with a strong sales acumen, a passion for developing client relationships, and the ability to support the execution of complex transactions.
Able to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams, you bring a relentless drive to uncover new transaction opportunities and turn them into successful deals supported by your successful record in networking and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging new clients and senior decision-makers!
Additional requirements include:
- 5-8+ years of relevant experience in reinsurance, financial services or related fields
- Appropriate academic or professional qualification
- Strong sales capabilities, with the ability to pitch Swiss Re’s offering and influence key stakeholders
- Experience in reinsurance transactions is a strong advantage, existing network in the legacy market is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
Travel required 10-20%

The estimated base salary range for this position is $128,000 to $204,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
