About the Role

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Identify and lead strategic Client Reviews and Due Diligences in line with Swiss Re's strategy and regional market requirements. Focus on creating value for Swiss Re and our clients.
  • Join multidisciplinary review teams, share best practices across the insurance value chain and support clients by leveraging Swiss Re's reinsurance knowledge and solution offerings.
  • Engage and consult with clients to identify opportunities to optimize data, processes, and reinsurance reporting.
  • Originate opportunities for Swiss Re including tailored solution(s) offering and transaction opportunities
  • Enable the technology changes in the insurance environment (data management, eAdmin, data analytics) and enthusiastically build opportunities and the solutions pipeline with current and new insurance partners.
  • Demonstrate the ability to bring the best of Swiss Re to the table and leverage the combination of our balance sheet, our brand and our knowledge – to make a difference to our clients through the insurance value chain and in-force management experience.
  • Succeed in building relationships with strategic clients and decision makers and using personal skills and communications to increase impact and improve the client experience.

 

(Business Management) Solutions:

  • Work with the client team to identify needs and opportunities for solutions
  • Enable timely performance and/or trend analyses on micro and macro level.
  • Identify challenges and develop solutions that demonstrate client focus as well as meet internal requirements.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the execution of solution offerings.

 

Tapping new Risk Pools:

  • Lead the due diligence and onboarding process for prospective strategic MGA Programs.
  • Work with the deal team to monitor MGA program operational and underwriting oversight requirements. Enable timely corrective measures through regular performance and/or trend analyses on micro and macro level.
  • Lead regular reviews and audits at client's office in collaboration with underwriting, claims and other functions.
  • Personally deliver our value to the client in coordination with the deal team.

 

Prospective Transactions:

  • Be a key strategic advisor to origination functions to ensure deal structuring is optimized when balancing different short- and long-term metrics, operational efficiency and post close considerations.
  • Lead Due Diligences on partner(s) and /or carrier(s) to strengthen operational readiness, performance monitoring, claims resolution, and mitigates reputational risk.
  • Find the right partners in terms of administration capability, oversight/portfolio capabilities and claims management in collaboration with other Swiss Re functions.

 

About the Team

 

The Client Review team is a global team within Swiss Re's P&C Business Management. We offer consulting on operational matters to our global client base and support Swiss Re in optimizing operations for best-in-class service. 

 

About You

 

  • University degree or equivalent with a strong business and financial acumen.
  • Significant relevant experience in (re)insurance with visible market knowledge and reputation.
  • Underwriting and/or actuarial experience.
  • Excellent Advanced Data Analytics skills and ability to share insights and story tell.
  • Comfortable engaging with Client C-suite, and decision makers.
  • Evidence of thought leadership with impact, in particular regarding topics with significant relevance for Swiss Re's clients & strong industry network
  • Excellent consultive, influencing and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required. Spanish language skills are an advantage.
  • End-to-end understanding of reinsurance value chain, incl. cashflows and data management/analytics.
  • Ability to establish productive client relationships and to represent Swiss Re at client's senior and executive management level
  • Strategic, analytical and conceptual thinking with an entrepreneurial mind-set focused on delivering results
  • Readiness to work independently and to take decisions (results-oriented, pragmatic, able to push efficient and creative solutions)
  • Preparedness to focus and commit, performs well under pressure, when facing ambiguity (including the ability to lead through groundbreaking change) and ability to cope with high workload
  • Natural curiosity, willingness to step out of comfort zone
  • Willingness to travel as needed
