Senior In-Force Management Expert

We are looking for a Senior In-force Management Expert who will manage specific underwriting portfolios consisting of our in-force contracts in the Americas.
About the Role
Working with underwriting, claims and reserving to convert data into findings and clear decisions that protect earnings and capital, you will support & challenge the CUO Portfolio Managers while jointly taking ownership for portfolio performance, tracking developments, explaining performance, and taking decisive actions (e.g., commutations/novations) to de-risk the book and open room for new business.
In this role you are part of a team that is further responsible for parts of our Data & Analytics strategy, with focus on engaging with stakeholders on the Product and Market level as well as originating and executing on deal opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Operations functions to manage and utilize inforce business datasets to enable and conduct Portfolio Analysis that influences underwriting strategy both at a Product and Market level through the Reinsurance Smart Circle.
- Analyze and interpret financial results, under the various valuation methods used within Swiss Re.
- Proactive monitoring of the P&C Re inforce portfolio to help avoid surprises in business performance, including, providing portfolio analytics for monitoring & steering of the UW Portfolio and pro-actively driving cross-functional collaboration as champion for the Operations functions.
- With support from the team, propose and execute on portfolio activities, which includes de-risking liabilities and freeing up capacity for new business, through Commutations, Novations and other tools.

About You

Strong communication skills along with excellent strategic agility, organization and planning enable you to make decisions and implement strategies.
Additional requirements include:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the Property & Casualty (Re)insurance industry; Portfolio Management/Underwriting/Actuarial/Data Analytics experience preferred
- Relationship builder who engages with others, establishes commitment, and takes a cross-functional view, while challenging others, in and outside of Operations
- Experienced skills in leading colleagues by example and motivation as well as influencing key stakeholders
- Team and change management experience is essential!
The estimated base salary range for this position is $116,000 to $213,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
