Summer Internship 2027 - Early Talent

Our 12- week Summer Internship program is designed to provide undergraduate and masters students with a valuable combination of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning opportunities. As an intern, you will work on meaningful projects, participate in industry-relevant training, and build connections through social and networking events. Potential Business Placements

1. Team: Business Development

The P&C Business Development team is responsible for discovering areas where Swiss Re can help clients solve problems or realize opportunities by doing more business with us and using reinsurance as a corporate finance tool.The Business Development team works across Swiss Re's North America Reinsurance business to identify growth opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and develop innovative solutions that address evolving market needs. The team partners closely with underwriting, client management, corporate finance, and strategy teams to evaluate business opportunities and support long-term growth initiatives.

As part of the team, you'll gain exposure to client strategy, market research, competitive analysis, and business development initiatives. You'll work alongside experienced professionals to assess market trends, support client engagements, and contribute to projects that help drive commercial success across Swiss Re's reinsurance business. You'll develop analytical, strategic, and relationship management skills while gaining insight into the global reinsurance industry.


2. Team: Alternative Capital Partners (Asset Management)

Alternative Capital Partners is part of Swiss Re's Asset Management division and connects institutional investors with insurance-related investment opportunities. Operating at the intersection of insurance and capital markets, the team supports fundraising, investor relations, and business development efforts while helping investors access alternative sources of risk and return.

As an intern, you'll gain exposure to investor engagement, market analysis, business development, and strategic projects. You'll work alongside professionals across investment, marketing, and client relationship functions while developing an understanding of insurance-linked securities, asset management, and alternative investment solutions.



3. Team: Risk Consulting & Analytics (RCA)

 

Risk Consulting & Analytics helps organizations turn data into actionable insights that improve business performance and risk management outcomes. The team combines industry expertise, analytics, and consulting capabilities to deliver solutions that help clients make informed strategic decisions and navigate complex challenges.

As part of the team, you'll support projects involving data analysis, market research, and client deliverables. You'll gain exposure to consulting engagements and analytical problem solving while learning how risk insights and data-driven recommendations create value for clients across the insurance industry.



4. Team: Client Data Management


The Client Data Management team supports Swiss Re's business by ensuring client data is accurate, accessible, and ready for analysis and decision-making. The team collaborates with business and technology partners to improve data quality, streamline processes, and support operational excellence across the organization.


As an intern, you'll gain exposure to data management, process improvement, and business analysis initiatives. You'll work with large datasets, support data quality efforts, and contribute to projects that enhance reporting, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making while developing valuable technical and analytical skills.

 



5. Team: Portfolio Analytics Engineering


Portfolio Analytics Engineering develops data platforms, analytics solutions, and reporting tools that support investment and portfolio management activities across Swiss Re. By combining technology, data engineering, and analytics, the team enables business partners to make informed decisions and improve operational effectiveness.


As part of the team, you'll contribute to projects involving data analysis, automation, dashboard development, and reporting solutions. You'll collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders while gaining exposure to modern data technologies, financial markets, and analytics-driven decision making.

About You:


- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Interest in insurance, reinsurance, asset management, consulting, data analytics, technology, or financial markets
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment


The internship base salary will be $23-$30 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, projected graduation year and/or highest degree held.
