About the Team
The Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) team in Group Finance provides accounting and reporting services for Property and Casualty (P&C) and Life and Health (L&H) segments within the Business Unit Reinsurance.
The Accounting Operations team coordinates, prepares and finalise the non-life and life quarterly financial closing for production of IFRS17 results and Statutory reporting packages in addition to consolidated submissions to the Group.
The team also manages Intragroup Retrocession (IGR) financial processes and ensures quarterly reporting of P&C/L&H IGRs to all counterparties. Additional tasks include the controlling of the IGR results and ad hoc provision of comprehensive IGR variance analysis.
Job Purpose
As Accountant – Internal Retrocessions you play a key role in managing the P&C Intragroup Retrocession (IGR) financial processes and ensuring the timely production of P&C IGR financial statements.Additional tasks include the controlling of the IGR results and ad hoc provision of comprehensive IGR variance analysis.
During the quarterly closing process, you have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from other Finance Units and Finance IT to whom you will provide comprehensive analysis on specific transactions. Working in a motivated and experienced team in a dynamic environment, you'll gain insight into various aspects of non-Life reinsurance.
Key Accountabilities

Responsible for end-to-end IGR P&C process on IFRS17 reporting including accounting and reconciliation.

Responsible for the quarterly reporting to all counterparties

Analyse quarterly financial statements in respect of accuracy and completeness

Support the overall IGR process management

Contribute to simplification of the process and support on automation

Ad hoc support in providing expert reports and analysis to our key stakeholders

Provide cover for roles in other teams

Any other ad hoc tasks as required from time to time
Key Skills, Knowledge, Qulaifications & Experience

Qualified Chartered Accountant with minimum 1 years' experience in a role relevant to Accounting or Financial Reporting, with good understanding of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet or CA (Inter) with minimum 2 years of experience in Finance or Accounting or MBA finance with minimum 2 year of experience.

Experience in working in a complex process environment required

Experience in working in cross-functional teams

Knowledge of Insurance and IFRS would be an added advantage.

Willingness to acquire necessary system and technical knowledge

Demonstrate personal accountability and dedication for area of responsibility

Team player, good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to fluently communicate in English is necessary

Insurance or reinsurance accounting experience preferred
