About the Role:

 

 

As an Actuarial Data Analyst in our global Actuarial Services (Facultative P&C), you'll be at the intersection of actuarial science and data analytics, helping to develop and maintain sophisticated pricing models that empower our underwriters to make confident, data-driven decisions in a competitive global market.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze and interpret complex enterprise level data to transform and drive insights, develop dashboards to show them and support in the insurance costing parameters review process.
  • Create and automate regular reports and dashboards to monitor portfolio performance
  • Develop and maintain statistical models and analytical tools that enhance our pricing accuracy and competitiveness
  • Take ownership of rating parameters, including developing and uploading them to enterprise parameter repositories
  • Collaborate closely with underwriters to provide actuarial support on complex or non-standard risks
  • Identify trends and patterns in loss data to improve risk assessment methodologies
  • Support the enhancement of our integrated global costing underwriting tools
  • Conduct research on emerging risks and market trends to inform pricing strategies
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve data quality and analytical capabilities

 

 

About the Team:

 

 

You'll be joining the Actuarial Services and Data Insights team based in Bangalore, aligned to the global Actuarial Services Property and Casualty in the Underwriting Excellence unit. Our team has three core mandates:

  1. We SHAPE and OPERATE the integrated and connected global costing underwriting tools to write Facultative property and casualty business
  2. We MAKE SURE we have good rates to write the property and casualty single risk reinsurance business. We continuously perform "Actual vs Expected" studies to revise rates to achieve organizational targets.
  3. We are the go-to place for underwriters to get actuarial REFERRAL on difficult insurance deals.

As part of our team, you'll contribute directly to these critical functions that drive underwriting excellence across our global operations.

 

 

About You:

 

 

You're an analytical thinker who thrives on solving complex problems and translating data into meaningful business insights. You are detail-oriented yet can see the bigger picture, allowing you to understand how your work contributes to organizational goals. You enjoy collaborating with diverse teams and can communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related quantitative field
  • 1-3 Years of Experience for Analyst or 3-5 Years of experience for Senior Analyst.
  • Progress toward actuarial certifications
  • Proficiency in modern analytical programming languages, particularly Python, SQL
  • Experience with Palantir, Power BI or other data analytics tools
  • Proficiency in performing data analysis with Palantir, using tools such as Contour, workshops, or Code Workbook
  • Experience working with large datasets and database query languages
  • Understanding of property and casualty insurance/reinsurance concepts and pricing methodologies

 

These are additional nice to haves:

 

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in insurance
  • Experience with agile project methodologies
  • Strong presentation skills and experience communicating complex analyses to various stakeholders
