Actuarial Associate II
About the Role
In this role, you will operate as a member of the Portfolio Monitoring & Insights Americas team with activities of producing, reviewing, and enhancing experience studies to monitor performance of the US life reinsurance portfolio relative to reinsurance pricing assumptions.
Job Responsibilities
- Validate reinsurance data sets for use in actuarial experience studies and create and review experience study results.
- Facilitate workflow between data analysts and actuarial teams and maintain documentation of data and study process.
- Analyze data, validate results, isolate unusual trends, seek explanation, and derive recommendations where necessary, and take shortfalls in analysis into account in drawing conclusions.
- Design analytical review process with selection of appropriate data assumptions and methods and follow established guidelines and best practices for internal data management processes, which includes appropriate documentation in support of business control.
- Create, maintain, and enhance guidelines and best practices when necessary and streamline current processes for efficiency when appropriate.
- Project management for monitoring enhancement projects.
Position Requirements:
- At least 2 years of actuarial pricing and/or valuation experience in Life Insurance and/or Reinsurance industry with a good understanding of fundamental actuarial concepts.
- Cleared at least 3 actuarial papers from IFoA UK or IoAI Mumbai.
- Programming/software skills particularly in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Power BI, and SQL and client database tools or others such as SAS, R, Python, or Oracle.
- Shows initiative in identifying data or actuarial related issues and supporting other team members, peers and senior stakeholders.
- Cross cultural experience working with colleagues globally and experienced in managing data works handover processes between teams in different geographical locations.
- Demonstrates strong oral and written English communication skills along with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and accurately and deliver to deadlines.
