Alfresco Platform Owner
Join our Document and Records Management (DRM) Platform team, where we deliver company-wide solutions for document processing, storage, and management. Our focus is on core DMS capabilities, providing integrated and automated solutions in this domain.
As the Alfresco Platform Owner, you will oversee the enterprise-wide Alfresco Records Management Platform, managing both physical records and the potential expansion to electronic records.
This role emphasizes a DevSecOps approach, ensuring platform stability, security, and continuous improvement and innovation while leading a small engineering team. In collaboration with the Product Owner and cross-functional teams, you will define the platform’s technical direction, embed best practices throughout the development lifecycle, and align it with business goals, while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and records management policies.
Your Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership
- Define and own the technical vision and long-term strategy for the Alfresco platform, ensuring alignment with department architecture and evolving enterprise needs for both physical and electronic records management.
- Following DevSecOps principles, oversee the full lifecycle of platform development from design to deployment, ensuring continuous integration, improvement, and embedded security to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Leverage any Documentum knowhow to inform enterprise content management strategies, integrations, and potential platform transitions or hybrid architectures.
Security & Compliance
- Integrate robust security controls throughout the platform’s lifecycle, ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant industry standards.
- Conduct regular security assessments, including penetration tests and vulnerability scans, to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with enterprise security, legal, compliance, and governance teams to enforce security protocols, data protection measures, and access controls, aligning with regulatory requirements such as data retention policies and legal holds.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and audit trails for system configurations, processes, and changes, ensuring compliance with internal and external audits.
Platform Scalability & Performance
- Design strategies to ensure platform scalability, reliability, and high performance across the enterprise, leveraging cloud infrastructure (Azure) and containerization (Kubernetes).
- Ensure the platform is future-proofed to handle increasing volumes of electronic records, with infrastructure and monitoring to guarantee uptime and resilience.
- Implement automated testing, deployment pipelines, and monitoring to enable rapid updates while maintaining system stability.
- Proactively detect and resolve performance and security issues through logging, monitoring, and alerting tools.
Collaboration & Team Leadership
- Work closely with other IT and business teams, including infrastructure, security, governance, and other teams within the records management department, to align platform capabilities with enterprise needs, security and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors, ensuring their tools and services integrate securely and effectively with the Alfresco platform.
- Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, providing technical guidance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and security-first development, incorporating DevSecOps principles.
- Collaborate with the team working on Documentum to ensure seamless migration or co-existence strategies between platforms.
About You
We understand that nobody is perfect and that it is rare to meet 100% of the requirements. However, if you meet some of the criteria listed below, we would be delighted to get to know you.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring, and Alfresco Content Services (ACS), with a solid understanding of Alfresco Process Services (APS) and Alfresco Governing Services (AGS).
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and security automation.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and enterprise-level system integrations.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system design and operational challenges.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business leaders.
Education/Experience:

- 8+ years of experience in software development, including 5+ years in enterprise content management (preferably Alfresco) or related platforms.
- Proven experience in implementing DevSecOps practices in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing engineering teams and overseeing platform operations.
