Application Engineer II

 

Role Overview:  We are looking for an experienced HR Access Management Application Engineer to join HR Access Management squad at Swiss Re. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in HR technology, access governance, and data protection.  

About the Role You will play a crucial role in managing access to HR applications addition to driving the implementation of the new access management concept and ensuring adherence to rules and regulations, you will support HR data governance topics and HR data lake in Foundry. Strong technical skills and stakeholder management are essential for this role.  

Access Management Responsibilities: 

  • Understand the access concept for HR applications, and drive the design of access products and the definition of access groups 

  • Understand the requirements for business and HR access to HR applications, and implement them in the system 

  • Document and maintain the access concept workbook (authorisations and roles)  

  • Manage the access life cycle during releases and infrastructure changes, ensuring that amendments, updates, and removals are approved and implemented by those responsible 

  • Review access requests and conduct the recertification of IT applications and APM IDs on periodic basis, participate in the audits 

  • Verify approval requests according to agreed KPIs  

  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations providing by the HR team with relevant regulations and Swiss Re policies in respect to HR applications access 

  • Design authorisation standards and access products according to Swiss Re standards aligned with the relevant business strategies 

  • Act as a guardian for HR data protection, identify potential risks to raise with relevant HR colleagues, IT, or risk/control functions 

  • Maintain effective relationships with HR/product owners, risk/control functions, including Legal & Compliance (particularly Data Protection Office), Risk Management, and Corporate Security Office 

  • Coordinate for preparation, facilitation, support and closure of compliance topics and audit reviews 

  • Leading the ticketing process, CR process and configuration. 

  • Ensure that development practices include clear test outcomes to guarantee quality of code within the development cycle; establish and run L3 Operational Support processes within squad and adoption of DevSecOps practices 

Educational Requirements 

  • Successfully completed university degree, relevant business administration or equivalent field 

  • 10+ years of work experience in IT developer role (e.g. system engineer, developer, configuration consultant) 

  • Proficiency in oral and written communication, presentation, with experience managing a range of stakeholders particularly from HR 

  • Several years of experience implementing and operating HR Technology in particular access management and HR core operations 

  • Relevant HR access management knowledge and system configuration in SuccessFactors. 

  • Passion towards people development and motivation of junior team members to build a strong talent pool and encourage them to work well in a distributed team with diverse partners spread across the world 

  • Detailed real-world experience with Scrum or similar agile methodologies. A Scrum Product Owner certification is a plus 

  • Interpersonal and consultative skills. 

  • English proficiency is a requirement. 

  • SuccessFactors Certification (preferred).
