About the Team

We are 200+ actuarial community members in Bangalore supporting the Life & Health

(L&H) business across all geographies contributing to several parts of the value chain of Swiss Re. We are a well-established team involved in end-to-end aspects of the Actuarial Valuation Reporting and Analysis, starting from data handling and modelling, until explaining the movements in reported figures to Head of Reporting who finally signs-off the numbers.

About the Role

  • Support the team in conducting quarterly valuation/reserving related activities:
  • Support in preparing data for valuation models and maintenance of the models
  • Accurately complete already defined modelling processes including implementation of modelling assumptions, performing model runs, debugging, validations of results and its delivery to the reporting actuaries/business owners
  • Perform required validations, analysis to ensure accuracy of the numbers produced as well as keep audit trails and documentation of all major validations/checks done
  • Ensuring the team deliverables are met as per pre-approved timelines
  • Perform user acceptance testing for various system and model changes for the actuarial production team
  • Drive continuous improvements, enhance, and extend various existing model building tools and model validation tools as needed and questioning existing processes
  • Apply technical knowledge and process skills to solve problems and develop solutions, i.e., investigating data/modelling issues, reconcile different reports/numbers
  • Assist on 'special projects' carried out to meet specific objectives as/when required

About You

  • Graduate (Bachelors degree) in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics/ Commerce/ Engineering or related disciplines with graduation obtained in last 3 years. Must not be a Post Graduate.
  • Must not have any formal prior work experience, internship exempted
  • Desired – enrolled as a student member of any of the actuarial professional institutes (India/UK/US etc)
  • Good understanding of fundamental actuarial concepts
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and deliver to deadlines
  • Desire to learn from highly skilled industry professionals across multiple fields to grow your professional development
  • Excellent communication and social skills to build and maintain positive relationships, internally within the team and externally with key partners
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail; able to quickly absorb details on business structure, product features and model requirements
  • Shows initiative in identifying issues and supporting other team members, peers, and senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite is desired, particularly knowledge  of MS Excel, VB Macros, SQL – will be an added advantage
