Property & Casualty (P&C) Enabling Unit – We're a team of global experts who steer the development and execution of P&C Re's Digital Transformation & Data Foundation strategy. We own and develop Operations' core system landscape and e2e operational reporting capabilities. We drive process alignment, simplification and continuously improve our digital operating platform and how we connect internally and externally to make us better to work with - and work for!
This role is specifically part of the Data Foundation & Reporting team (within Enabling), which ensures strong data integrity that drive data driven decision making within P&C.

About the role
We are seeking a proactive and eager Data Governance Apprentice to join our dynamic team and embark on a mid-long term career in this field. In this entry-level role, you will play a handson role within all parts of the P&C Data Governance Practice – ranging from shaping and implementing data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, compliance, and security across the organization.
Day-day in the role will include the following (but not limited to)
• Contribute to the P&C Re Operations data governance framework and related projects
• Continuously contribute and shape Analytical Data Modelling (ADM) initiatives as well as ongoing maintenance of attributes and meta data of P&C data sets
• Make meaningful contributions in shaping P&C's data governance landscape including establishing underlying processes, concepts, technical elements, etc.
• Support in implementing numerous aspects of P&C's core data governance practice (not limited to Master data management, data issue management, data quality management, etc.)
• Support in the maintenance of the P&C data network as well as initiatives aimed at enhancing data knowledge and culture within P&C
• Support in P&C Data governance practice's activities
About You
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a data related stream/Computer Science/Business Administration, or a related field.
- Competence or experience in analyzing, articulating, and defining the requirements of business ideas; be involved in data gathering and evaluation, assessing and redesigning processes, and developing specific artefacts to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution.
- Results orientated and willing to build a track record of execution and be a "safe pair of hands"
Technical Skills:
- Exposure and interest in data tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python and PowerBI will be very useful.
- Scale up to gain a good understanding of data management principles, data quality frameworks, and metadata management
- Familiarity with data governance tools would be an advantage (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, or similar)
Soft Skills:
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-cultural environment
- Curious about learning new concepts and not shy away from experimenting
- Dedicated and able to work well with reasonable independence and with global teams
- Attention to detail: A passion for detail while keeping the big picture in mind
- Positive mindset and passion for solving problems, curiosity for learning new concepts, and enthusiasm for experimentation
