About the Team:

 

This apprenticeship position is part of L&H Re APAX unit in Bangalore that provides support to diverse units of L&H Re teams by providing pricing guidelines and allied areas.  This position entails working for various markets within L&H Re Asia excluding China team with hybrid working conditions. Therefore, provides huge learning opportunity towards developing the understanding of insurance/reinsurance practices of the regions like ANZ, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea etc.

 

About the Role:

The Apprentice will be responsible to deliver support to Pricing office Team with analytical capabilities. Key work areas are:

• Treaty experience analysis for reinsured business

• Providing experience insights emerging for Pricing and Valuation assumption settings

• Working closely with local & regional actuaries and data management teams
 

L&H Re APAX Pricing Office Apprentice will be highly motivated individual to join the L&H Re APAX Pricing Services team.
The main tasks will be –

1. Support in regional tasks, initiatives and projects related to monitoring aspects such as Approver Authority Levels and relevant systems

2. Supporting monitoring of capacity usage for mortality and critical illness treaties

3. Support the team on Margin Management activities

4. Helping to manage pricing induction program for new costing actuaries

5. Support the Pricing Office Asia or Market teams on any projects as required

6. Conduct research/investigation on insurance-related topics or costing basis

 

About You:

  Desired:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science

2. Good actuarial exam progress from a recognized actuarial professional body (2-3 exams cleared)

3. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

4. Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

5. Familiarity with R/Python/SAS or any other coding language (good to have)

6. Attention to detail and keenness to learn.

7. Good understanding of actuarial best practices.

8. Organization, prioritization and planning skills.

9. Ability and initiative to challenge and suggest improvement(s) to existing processes
